Solve it, if you dare !

So, you are playing black in this game and it is your move.
Note that your queen is under attack by a rook, and that rook is defended.
Do you move your queen, or is there a better chess move ?
What is your best chess move and what 2 black moves follow ?

It's been a long long time since I last played Chess, so my skills and talents have become rusty by.

I certainly wouldn't move her to kill the rook or next move, the white knight will kill here then uh oh

The chess board has vanished, can't remember was there a pawn there to save her , but if not.... my option for now, move her back ...sleepy head tonight jim so I apologise for not giving giving it dime day sleep
@ Jim~ - wave ..... Move the black queen back one space.... Your move

..... grin cheers
Not sure what sove means, but move the black rook one space forward next to the white queen and get ready to trade a few players.
So move the Queen down one to it's original spot...
srry...moe the King down one i mean lol
S - Sove was supposed to be Solve, but my typing 'skills' have never been good.
Regardless, thanks, I corrected it.

Everyone - So far, there's a much better move awaiting your discovery.
ok move the black rook once space to the left n put it under the white rook
Nevermind that move lol
only only one left that i see so far, is the king down to the left to be on original line n if you do that, then the rook cant get it crown from that spot where it's at now
Hint - The 3 moves I am thinking about either results in the loss of a white rook, or checkmate of white's king.
BXN, Resigns no next two moves
Bishop take knight - bishop takes pawn “check” knight moves forward - “check-mate”
In notation?
Reverse Queen to right diagonally row2space 5 to row 1 space 4 and next attempt to use the rook( to remove the knight) and bishop (to remove white rook) as they should be eliminated to gain center ground.

dunno
Oops reverse queen diagonally to the left.sorry when writing comments the board isn't visible.laugh
Very good FF thumbs up applause

for black; Bishop take Knight

for white Rook take Q

for black Bishop x pawn, Check !

for white King to g1

for black Knight to f3 checkmate !

However if;

for black; Bishop take Knight

for white pawn to f3

for white Queen take rook.

Note that the white rook can't take the black bishop, because then the queen can check
the king and after the rook blocks the check, Queen takes Rook, checkmate.

So, white gets a rook & a knight without giving up anything.
Knight moves 2 spaces to the left and forward.
RXN, BXP ch, KB8,QXR,RF5 reduces the loss to a rook
bishop, because then the queen can check
the king and after the rook blocks the check, Queen takes Rook, checkmate.thumbs up
...but then the exchange is lost due to BE4 ch... Resigns is the right move
Which one is Trumprolling on the floor laughing and where is Pelosi. Black Bishop take white Knight then black bishop take white pawn. then say check.
I had it another way...
Or black night behind black queen. Either pelosi is drunk or trump hates golfrolling on the floor laughing
the rook is the crook
and the drama queen, is on the scene. laugh
@wl No, you are mistaken. White cannot take the queen because that results in mate, instead he takes the black knight preventing the mate, and black checks with the bishop first, then takes the rook with the queen. White loses either way. I can still many moves ahead even at this age

Yes, now I see that. I was looking at the main defensive move being Castle to defend the white pawn.

Taking the Black Knight is a superior move; although either move only delays the inevitable; Black to mate. Either way, my next move is Bishop takes pawn, check. Then Black Queen takes white Castle. Then it is just a matter of pointless defensive blocks by white leading to mate. Once the Black Queen is on the final row it is over.

I don't resign when I play Chess. I play out the loss, if I am going to lose. Believe it or not, much can be learned from the end game; win or lose. W.

You do realise that you are arguing with me, saying I am wrong, and you're saying the exact same thing as me?

Who's wrong? I'm lost. What? Thanks FF. W.
@WL set up a board (online) and play out the moves. I don't need to, I can visualise them

Black: BXN threatens mate in 2 via BXPch, KB8 NC6 mate)
RXN, BXP ch, RXN prevents NC6 mate and BXP prevents RXB
KB8 QXR,
RF5 reduces the loss to a rook

Actually White can also play QXR!, Black QXR and that reduces the loss to a Knight
Morning Jim, If not for a sudden sleepiness, my concentration would of been more awake last night, of course I knew there was a better move, but tiredness got the better of me, interesting reading the replies and moves this morning.

Good blog, a nice reminder of how much I once used to enjoy playing chess wine
