Little seeds of sadness

Emotions are a strange thing; you never know what might trigger them, and it is quite often small -seemingly insignificant- things that stir them up unexpectedly.

The seemingly insignificant things that stirred my emotions recently were two packets of seeds; chive seeds, to be precise. I found them in the suitcase I bought last year to take on a trip that never happened. They would probably have remained forgotten and undiscovered indefinitely had my daughter not asked to borrow the suitcase, and I not checked to make sure it was empty before giving it to her.

I was supposed to be taking the seeds with me on the trip that never happened, and although there were several much more regrettable issues concerning its non-occurrence, the seeds are the most poignant reminder of a failed adventure.

Onions, we all know about, but who knew chives could make you cry? crying

Now who's the cry baby roll eyes

I'm exposing my soft underbelly here, Jim, and crudeness is not appropriate. snooty

I'm still chuckling at Trump's brother dying of shame, BTW. smile
Well it could have been a touch of hayfever, Celtic, let's not make too much of it. hole
Could of been Harb, could of been comfort
There you go, gg.

Nice tune, but not really appropriate for the situation. Still worth listening to though.
Harbal ~ Thanks for the song. Not appropriate. It may not have been romantic at all I was just hazarding a guess. It was sadness you felt. Seeds last a good while. Would you sew them in a box/planter just for the heck ?
Yes, out of the blue something can trigger great feelings of sadness. Thanks for sharing.
You could always come and plant your seeds in my garden, Herbie?

If you don't mind the quarantine that is?

I'm good with growing plants from seeds.
I have marawana plants, also a Peyote and San Pedro cactus which was given to me by a Venezuelan "friend" who is now in jail.
But, I'm not really emotional about him.
uh oh
I dry my seeds, name the flower or herb, and put in to packets each year.
For me, seeds are a sign of hope. of things to grow and flower in time.
WE don't all think the same, I respect that.daisy
I'm very careful as to not mix seeds and plants from different species, Herbie.
I don't want some of them to corrupt the others.

They also have special shelters.
I'm sure you run a very orderly garden, Daniela. It is still my ambition to come and enjoy those famous lemons of yours that you are so proud of. smile
"Emotions are a strange thing; you never know what might trigger them, and it is quite often small -seemingly insignificant- things that stir them up unexpectedly."

This is true. Sometimes they get upset by what you write, even though they read it wrong.
If talking, the tone, the expression, non-response, not agreeing, etc. can trigger a person to react with negative emotion.

I'm not their psychiatrist and i'm not aware of their emotional state.
@ Harbal
Is there still a music shop up there in Doncaster? I'm going back 20 yrs now. It wasn't in the town center. It was just in a street. A small shop. I'm sure it began with an "E" I've searched for it but it could have changed names now. My son can't remember the name either. We used to buy zildjian cymbals for him when he was a drummer. He was only 15 at the time though........
Let's drink to unexpected emotions. LaFonda. wine
I'm not really very familiar with the town of Doncaster, Miss_Cell, I've only lived in the area for 4 or 5 years; I'm about 8 miles away from the centre of Doncaster. I know there used to be decent music shop there but I think it closed down. I knew someone who went to look at their guitars. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Now if you can think of a question about Barnsley, we will be much more likely to get somewhere. idea
I sometimes like to cry myself to sleep, doesdare. crying

Harb ~ I'm afraid to cry. Seriously. The last time I let the tears come it was like a Tsunami, i cried and cired, and sobbed and couldn't breathe, it was like a dam had been opened. I was exhausted after the release of all that pent up stuff and fell in to a long sleep with red eyes.
I sing when i feel very sad. From the stomach like i was taught, sad songs, ubeat songs, it's a great release of emotion. crying
Plant your seeds inside a good woman
I'm not actually feeling sad enough to burst into song, gg, but I'll remember that advice. hug
What about a little parsley?
You like to cry yourself to sleep Harb confused

Just so you know, tears never keep the monsters from under the bed away scold

Only growing up does, but if that fails

weight gain won't roll eyes

Hope my advice helpscomfort

How do you know about the size of my parsley, Merc? uh oh
I've got a big cardboard box full of tools under my bed, Celtic. No room for a monster.
I suppose one monster per room is enough grin rolling on the floor laughing
