It Means That After These Lions Grow To Be Adults?....People Come...Pay A Fee...And Then... From Maybe 15 Feet Away?.They Shoot Them...So They Can Put The Lions Head On Their Wall As A Trophy
These Majestic Animals Are At The Mercy Of Mankind
And Man Kind Seems To Not Very Much Of That...... When It Comes To Mercy
Especially For Earth's Wild Life
But There Is One Place I've Found That Is In South Africa That Is Doing Their Damnest To Help Keep These Fortunate Lions Alive
It Is Called "The Glen Garriff Reserve"
As Of Now? They Have Over 100 Lions there...Some Of These Lions Actually Live Inside Of Their House
And If They Did Not Take These Lions In?...The lions Would Have been Sold For "Canned Hunters"
It Is Great To Know That There Are Humans Who Have Dedicated Their Lives To Keep These Lions From Being Slaughtered To Extinction
But...As Always..All Of This Takes Money To Keep The Reserve Going
Because if They Cannot Keep The Money Coming In?
These Lions Will End Up As Victims Of The "Canned Lion Hunters"
(I Personally Talked With The Owner Yesterday By E Mail..And Told Her That
"I Myself...Though It Is Not Much...Has Sent Them A Few Bucks"
She Thanked Me...And It Made Me Feel Like I Had Done Something
To Help (Though In A Very Small Way) To Keep These Lions From Becoming Victims

I looked it up Nam and read many of the reviews............everyone had a wonderful time and was very impressed with what they saw there.
How any one can look at a lion head on his wall is unbelievable to me. Knowing that lion never had
a chance, that is not hunting but slaughter. Sick people............

Totally agree with your statement but be very careful as to donating without scrutinizing the cause first.
I have never been to that specific conservation (santuary) farm and hope that it has no links with the dubious ones.

Of course you get the greedy ones too that just do canned/captive hunting for the ever growing greed for money and status of 'I have more than you'.
Foreign hunters that don't want to pay for the very expensive permit dangle the lucrative carrot (money) to the farmer that then offer canned or captive hunting. These farms that offer canned or captive hunting have opened a new market for hunters who cannot afford or are too stingy want to pay the price of the permit for a real wild lion hunt.
I have seen how a guide drives around a fenced piece dense of bush (+-50ha) with 'hunter' and after about a hour or two in the hot sun the lion is miraculously spotted, cornered and shot with no chance of escape. The 'hunter' from the USA, Europe or wherever, is put under the impression that the tracker has tracked the poor cat for miles and miles but in actual fact all they did was go round in circles until the guide decides its time for the kill.
All this will only stop once there is true love and compassion toward nature with a genuine desire to practice nature conservation.
