Joe Biden on climate change and the opportunities we can capitalize on, after he is elected
Today Joe Biden talked live from Maryland from what looked like perhaps a wetland adjacent area with plenty of flowing reeds in the background. He spoke about the California wildfires, the ongoing hurricanes and climate change. He broadcast, that if he is elected, he will not deny climate change, but rather not only respect the science, but use it as a huge opportunity for the American worker and the country.
Rather than ignore and deny climate change, like Trump, he would capitalize on having the USA as a leader in a new frontier of energy efficient manufacturing with zero emissions. It would foster new technology and industrial growth with good union jobs and new products. He also would encourage a switch to electric vehicles and ensure adequate recharging stations along highways & major roads.
Sticking with Trump would enable worsening of the climate with more massive storms and foster backwards thinking.
While the speech lacked any indication of dementia or sniffles, ideas being pushed by
Trump supporters, I will admit, that there apparently were lots of live bugs

Nothing to see here
Let's just add it to to the list of 'convenient' events, eh, Mic?
For common sense explanation watch here
Why do you think all those trees died in the first place ?
Climate change ! Excessive heat with prolonged dry spells.
Yes, idiot humans & lightning ignite the fires.
And climate change makes the fires much bigger and more encompassing.
They stupidly used colored pyrotechs to indicate the gender of their unborn.
What ever happened to "It's a boy! " or "It's a girl !" cards, or cakes ???
Regardless, whether the fire got started naturally or very unaturally, it was waiting to happen
BECAUSE of climate change and not enough being done to reverse it.
What ever happened to "It's a boy! " or "It's a girl !" cards, or cakes ???
Take it High Tech & post Facebook pics of the kid in his/her blanket.
For a pre-birth announcement post pics of the Ultrasound.
That wouldn't have worked with my 2nd grandkid - the tech couldn't tell cuz the kid had it's legs crossed.
Dad & Granddad (me) immediately drew the same conclusion - It's A Girl!
We Were Right ...
But, it is possible and certainly worth attempting.
Throwing one's hand up and saying there is nothing we can do, NEVER gets things accomplished.
Reactions to I(!)NTHE have been likened to the Kübler-Ross Model of The Five Stages Of Grief such as an individual goes through when given a diagnosis of terminal illness -
1) Denial – The first reaction is denial. In this stage, individuals believe the diagnosis is somehow mistaken, and cling to a false, preferable reality. (e.g. What's pitched by The Don)
2) Anger – When the individual recognizes that denial cannot continue, they become frustrated, especially at proximate individuals. Certain psychological responses of a person undergoing this phase would be: "Why me? It's not fair!"; "How can this happen to me?"; "Who is to blame?"; "Why would this happen?". {e.g. Greta Thunberg - "How Dare You?!")
3) Bargaining – The third stage involves the hope that the individual can avoid a cause of grief. Usually, the negotiation for an extended life is made in exchange for a reformed lifestyle. People facing less serious trauma can bargain or seek compromise. Examples include the terminally ill person who "negotiates with God" to attend a daughter's wedding, an attempt to bargain for more time to live in exchange for a reformed lifestyle or a phrase such as "If I could trade their life for mine". (See comment immediately above }
4) Depression – "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die soon, so what's the point?"; "I miss my loved one; why go on?"
During the fourth stage, the individual despairs at the recognition of their mortality. In this state, the individual may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time mournful and sullen.("The grief that comes with the end of a story" - See vid link in my comment above )
5) Acceptance – "It's going to be okay."; "I can't fight it; I may as well prepare for it."
In this last stage, individuals embrace mortality or inevitable future, or that of a loved one, or other tragic event. People dying may precede the survivors in this state, which typically comes with a calm, retrospective view for the individual, and a stable condition of emotions. (Guy McPherson - "We get to see how it ends".)
I attended some of last Fall's Fire Drill Friday gatherings of Young Greta's Truants. I was surprised - Impressed! - at how many young folks have achieved "Acceptance" relative to older folks who are still in "Bargaining".
The kids were explaining Reality to their seniors - Quite remarkable, really.
In the case of INTHE there's ...
6) He who dies with the most toys/loot/political office WINS (e.g. D. BLOOD & A. GORE, and Ol' Joe pitching an to end hurricanes with Union built electric cars - Unless he really Believes it, in which case See #3.)
Older folks attending last Fall's Fire Drill Fridays gatherings were heavily invested in Extinction Rebellion.
The kids, less so - Go figure ...
Bargaining Clingers now have a Choice of Extinction Rebellion factions.
Seems the movement is bickering over Demand #4 -
Extinction Rebellion - U.S. (See above ) Demands that Black Lives Matter.
Extinction Rebellion - America Demands that All Lives Matter.
I'm pretty sure XR - America is the Original Extinction Rebellion, and suspect XR - US is a Leftist faction that broke away to show solidarity with BLM Demonstrators in the aftermath of the George Floyd killing.
Could be wrong ...
Latinos have Never been as reliably in the Dem's camp as, say, Blacks.
It's often attributed to Latinos being heavily Catholic & having a problem with the Dem strongly Pro Choice position.
