Three Things To Remember When The Democrats Start Whining About Trump's Supreme Court Appointment

RIP Ruth Ginsburg bla bla bla...

1. Ginsburg was asked by Democrats to step down when Obama was in office so they could ensure she would be replaced by another liberal. She refused. So now President Trump gets to pick a conservative instead of Obama picking a liberal. Thank you Ms. Ginsburg. You did not die in vain! And I have to give you credit where credit is due, your timing is brilliant.

2. The Democrats eliminated the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees while Obama was in office. They thought they were being really clever even though they were warned by the Republicans not to do it because it would come back to bite them. Guess what? It came back to bite them. Now, thanks to the Democrats, President Trump and the Republicans can exercise their constitutional right to appoint a new Supreme Court Justice any time they want and the Democrats are powerless to stop it. Nice work Democrats! You shot yourselves in the foot!

3. What do you suppose Chuck Schumer would do if he was in the same position as Mitch McConnell now and there was a Democrat in the White House? Would he be saying "For the good of the country we need to wait and let the next president pick the replacement for Ginsburg?" YEAH RIGHT!

The Democrats have NO ONE TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES and their stupid attempts to destroy the democratic process for this appointment. They made their bed and now they will have to lie in it. They NEVER seem to learn their lesson. LIBERALISM, SOCIALISM AND COMMUNISM DO NOT WORK!

You can't destroy the democratic process and then demand democracy when things don't go your way. It doesn't work like that.

President Donald J. Trump: Record three Supreme Court Justice appointments in his first term! He beat the Democrats like a rented mule at their own game. thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up cheers cheers cheers cheers cheers

BREAKING NEWS! - 'Crat Political Strategists' React To Death Of Notorious RBG -

uncertain

cowboy
This reminds me of 2016, when Judge Scalia passed away, and Obama had nominated Garland, but we (Republicans) said the appointment should be left up to the next incoming President, which I agreed with. So the Senate left Garland's nomination on hold until the new President took office

I still believe this is the way it should be, but fair is fair, right? Besides, I have no worries that Trump will be re-elected, and he will nominate someone for it. Besides, there's not enough time for hearings for that nominate before the year ends anyway.

Here's a list of four to choose from that I know of.

I do believe there's a law in place where a President must nominate someone for a U.S. Supreme Court position right away however.
The Prez Race just became - What side wants that SCOTUS seat bad enough?

On The Don's side -
It's widely presumed Amy Coney-Barrett (ACB) is on deck to be The Don's next SCOTUS pick.
A Look At Judge Amy Coney Barrett ...

The prospect of ACB replacing RGB will energize Values Voters (Pro-Lifers) like nothing else could.
It'll bring 'em to the polls in Droves.

Ironically, RGB may've clinched The Don's re-election.

NO one can Ever explain to me Why she didn't resign in '17 to let Barry O nominate her successor. ... confused

cowboy
This explains (With Cartoons grin ) what's at stake with the nomination of ACB to replace RBG on the High Court ...

Imagine removing RBG from the Far Left and putting ACB on the Far Right with Justice Thomas ... shock

The Don's legacy - in the form of Trump Court Rulings & Precedents - will Easily extend the effects of his Presidency Well Past mid-Century.

hmmm

cowboy
Ted Cruz has made the point that the election could end up undecided and a 9 justice SCOTUS would likely be needed to avoid a constitutional crisis.
The plot thickens.

There is a rumor floating around that Ginsburg's daughter said her last words on her deathbed were "Don't let the current president pick my successor!"

I don't know whether this is some kind of stupid joke or just one more Democrat line of BS, but either way... see #1 in the OP. thumbs up

She would have no one to blame but herself!
Nope.

cowboy
It's ON !!!!!!!

McConnell tweeted...

“Americans re-elected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary,” Mr. McConnell said in a statement issued not long after news of Justice Ginsburg’s death became public. “Once again, we will keep our promise. President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”
We may have a new Supreme Court Justice even before the election thanks to the critical assist by the Democrats who frittered away their ability to do anything to stop it in an attempt to undermine the democratic process. thumbs up

BREAKING! 1/2 Hour Ago -

The Don announces he'll nominate RBG's replacement "soon" - Implies "a woman" currently tops the list - Amy Coney Barrett? ... dunno

cowboy
So double-speak and double standards from the Republicans - what else is new, and what else is expected? Integrity, Consistency? Come off it. If Obama's nomination in 2016 because it was an election year was blocked, that's his problem, right, the principles claimed then mean NADA now?
The 2016 argument is bunk. Republicans had a 54 to 44(+2) Senate majority in 2016. Any vote on Garland(or any other Obama nominee) was a formality - he was NOT getting that seat. So McConnell - as was his right as Senate majority leader - decided to avoid the dog and pony show and leave it for the 2 parties to campaign on as an election issue. Which is what happened. Trump won and Republicans kept control of the senate. Which is why they get to appoint another SC justice now. You may not like it, but thems the rules. Elections have consequences.
Hypocrisy of course, but what goes around comes around.

Obama in 2016: ‘There’s No Unwritten Law’ that Says Filling Vacant SCOTUS Seats Can Only Be Done on Off-Years

Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., on Sunday declared Republicans in the Senate are following the “Joe Biden rule” that allows a vote on a new Supreme Court nominee ahead of an imminent presidential election.

In an interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” Barrasso quoted Biden when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in the 1980s and 1990s.

“In 2016 …we were following the Joe Biden rule,” Barrasso said of GOP senators’ resistance to then-President Barack Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to fill the vacancy left by the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

“When there is a Senate of one party and the White House of another, and a Supreme Court vacancy, we will not confirm,” he quoted the Biden rule as saying.

“Twenty-nine times there have been vacancies” when both the Senate and White House are from one party and “they go forward.”

President Donald Trump’s aim to nominate a successor for the seat left vacant by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death “is completely consistent with precedent,” Barrasso declared.

When host Chuck Todd remarked it “sounds like a power grab,” Barrasso batted back.

“When you have both parties in the White House and Senate, historically the confirmation goes forward and that’s what’s going to happen here,” he declared.laugh

Trump is going to wait for Ginsburg to be laid to rest before making his nomination.

Biden won't even reveal his list of candidates of U.S. Supreme Court nominees. A lot of voters won't like his list of people on it, and even he (Biden) knows that.
Ol' Joe's waiting to be told who'll be on his list.

The names proposed by the DNC are vetted by the CCP, so it's taking a while.

cowboy
The Dems are SOOO sure Trump will lose. Go ask Hillary about that one. rolling on the floor laughing Next Pres may well BE Trump. Then what?
