Maybe I should write a horror science fiction novel.
You could have a field day with reflecting the ethics, psychology and environmental issues of human dominance with that one.
Especially if it would be purely dystopian - no escape (like "1984" or "Brave New World"), without Hollywood heroes who would save the day. In the end, after all the struggle, cats would dominate and eat the humans.
