What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

All the great religious leaders of history have one thing in common: they are dead. Only one man has risen from a grave never again to taste death. Jesus Christ died, was buried, remained in the grave for 3 days, then was raised to life again.

Jesus is unique. He is the only one proven to be the Son of God because God validated His Kingship and accepted His payment for our sins all with one incredible stroke: He raised Jesus from the dead!

Paul opens his letter to the Romans with this evidence about who Jesus is:
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, which He had promised before by His prophets in the holy scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:1-4

Because Jesus Christ is very much alive, five things are true right now that wouldn’t be true if He were just another dead religious leader like Confucius, Mohammed or Buddha.

Because Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive…Prayers are answered, We can talk to Jesus 24/7

Human beings are like little children at times.
We need help and daddy says; "Let me help you child"
Will we let Him, like most three year old we say; "No, I can do it myself"
Only when we get ourself in trouble will we allow the Father's help. ...................
A friend from work came over for a visit, at the time I lived in a small appartment, 1 bedr, 1 bath.
The apartment was 15 stories high and It gave me a beautiful view of Mt. Baker, what a treat.
My friend wanted to see my Mustang so I looked for my keys. We looked everywhere, no keys.
Called a neighbour, as I also needed my keys to close my front door,
Sorry Jenny I can not help until 5 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
Oh boy panic, I had to work and leave my apt open.
My friend left and I thought oh yeh I could pray..................I did so and walked into my bathroom ,on the counter was my make-up bag that I hardly ever used and yes hallo keys, how did you get in there?

Have any stories about answered prayer?..................

John 1-12
But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name.............
The gospel is very simple as you can see.......You too can become a child of the King :
I've always heard that if you believe he died on the cross for your sins and get baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost you are saved. Never remember anything about being raised from the dead on the third day..ok that does sound familiar.thumbs up
God gave us free will he did not create robots. If you want to belong to God's family, you can.

It is up to you to tell Him that you want to be His child.

This is not an automatic thing you must come to Him.

You can come just as you are no need to wait until you are sober, or whatever stands between you and the Lord.

It is your sins that separate you from your Father in Heaven.

He knows that you are a sinner He wants to help you change.

You have tried to do that yourself already and as you have discovered, it does not work. You need His help.

I believe that the Lord wants to help you more than you want to be helped.

If you are on drugs, he can set you free.

What ever your problem is, He can and will help you.

Why don't you let Him? I know that you will never be sorry that you did. Being a Christian is to me, very exciting I know that this is just the start; many good things are waiting for us now, and later.

Without salvation that only Jesus Christ can give you, you won't get eternal life. Jesus says that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
See it this way you are as a non-Christian, under the sentence of death.

Now see yourself in an imaginary jail, waiting to be put to death.
There is a knock on the door, it is the warden he is bringing you good news.
He tells you that there is someone who is willing to die in your place.
The warden wants to know from you, if you want to receive this free pardon, a free gift!
What would be your answer to that offer?

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Not of a result of works, that no one should boast”
Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8-9

If you want to know how you can become one of His children and if this prayer reflects how you feel, repeat this prayer;

Dear Lord and Saviour,
I know that I have sinned against you and that I am not living within your plan.
For this, I ask your forgiveness. I believe that you died for me, and in doing so, paid the penalty for my sins. I am willing to turn from sin and I now ask you to come into my heart and my life and be my personal Saviour.
Help me now, to follow and obey you as Lord and to find your perfect will for my life. Thank you Lord for saving my soul.
It seems when people hit the very bottom now they turn to drugs so they can't feel the hurt, but years ago they would turn to God. When they had no one else on earth to help them they would cry out to God.
Proverbs 13:20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
Ephesians 6:18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.
The Lord wants us to pray to Him, for that is the way to communicate with us. Is it not mind blowing that the great Creator Himself set it up this way? Yes, He already knows what we want and need before we ask, but that is the thing, He wants us to ask. I sincerely wonder how much I would talk to the Lord in prayer, otherwise.
Jesus says; "I am the Way, the Truth, The Life, the Alpha and the Omega
Every thing belongs to Jesus, for the Father has given it to Him...........
There really is not anything I can add to what I have shown you so far Butcher

If you give him your heart, your soul, He will take care of it...........simply surender it to the Lord.....Amen, meaning..........."Let it be so":...........handshake:
One of the very last words uttered by Jesus on the cross, “It is finished” in John 19:30, is one of the most important and poignant. The words, “It is finished” are found only in John 19:30. The Greek word translated “it is finished” is tetelestai, an accounting term meaning paid in full.

Jesus is saying in “It is finished” that the debt owed by man to his Creator on account of Adam’s sin is finally and forever dealt with. Jesus, with “it is finished,” is saying not only does He take away man’s sin, but now He removes it as far as the east is to the west, for is finished, done, signed, and sealed because of the blood of Jesus.

None But Jesus Can Say It Is Finished
Before the arrest of Jesus by the Romans, Jesus prayed His last public prayer, where He asked the Father to glorify Him even as He had glorified the Father. He prayed to “finish the work you have given me to do” (John 17:4).

The work of Jesus is to seek and save that which is lost (Luke 19:10) and to provide atonement for sinners whom Jesus died for to reconcile them to God (Romans 3:23-25; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19). None but the Lord God could accomplish and say with the authority of the God-Man, “It is finished” (John 19:30).

Jesus Is the Fulfillment of Prophecy
When Jesus said, “It is finished” (John 19:30) He brought about the completion of all the Old Testament prophecies, symbols, and foreshadowing about Himself. From the beginning of Genesis to the end of Malachi, there are 300 detailed prophecies about the Anointed One Jesus, which are fulfilled by Him. From the “seed” who would crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15) to the Suffering Servant (Isaiah 53)
.

The Holy of Holies was the innermost chamber in the wilderness tabernacle, a room so sacred only one person could enter it, and then only one day out of the entire year.

This room was a perfect cube, 15 feet in each direction. Only one object was housed there: the ark of the covenant. There was no light inside the chamber other than the glow from God's glory.

A thick, embroidered veil separated the holy place from the Holy of Holies inside the tent of meeting. Regular priests were allowed in the outer holy place, but the Holy of Holies could be entered only by the high priest on the annual Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur.

On that day, the high priest would bathe, then put on the clean linen garments of the priest. His robe had solid gold bells hanging from the hem. The noise of the bells told the people he was making atonement for their sins. He entered the inner sanctuary with a censer of burning incense, which would produce thick smoke, hiding the mercy seat on the ark where God was. Anyone who saw God would die instantly.

The high priest would then sprinkle the blood of a sacrificed bull and a sacrificed goat on the atonement cover of the ark, to make amends for his and the people's sins.

New Covenant, New Freedom
The old covenant God made through Moses with the Israelites required regular animal sacrifices. God lived among his people in the Holy of Holies, first in the desert tabernacle, then in the stone temples in Jerusalem.

Everything changed with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, signifying that the barrier between God and his people was taken away.

On Jesus' death, the first Holy of Holies, or God's throne in heaven, became accessible to every believer. Christians may approach God confidently, not on their own merit, but through the righteousness credited to them by the shed blood of Christ.

Jesus atoned, once and for all, for humanity's sins, and at the same time became our high priest, acting on our behalf before his Father:

Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess. (Hebrews 3:1, NIV)
No longer does God confine himself to the Holy of Holies, separated from his people. When Christ ascended into heaven, every Christian became a temple of the Holy Spirit, a living dwelling place of God. Jesus said:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. ( John 14:16-18, NIV)

You made an illegal U-Turn Ma'am. Well, officer if that is what you saw it must be true. Then that very nice officer said; I will let you go ma'am if you promise me never to make another U-Turn.
Officer, I make you a promise, if I know you are watching, I will not make another U-Turn.
He started to laugh and said; Oh go on now ma'am good day............

There are inherent and fundamental differences between Buddhism and Christianity, one significant element being that while Christianity is at its core monotheistic and relies on a God as a Creator, Buddhism is generally non-theistic and rejects the notion of a Creator God which provides divine values for the world.

The central iconic imagery of the two traditions underscore the difference in their belief structure, when the peaceful death of Gautama Buddha at an old age is contrasted with the harsh image of the crucifixion of Jesus as a willing sacrifice for the atonement for the sins of humanity. Buddhist scholars such as Masao Abe see the centrality of crucifixion in Christianity as an irreconcilable gap between the two belief systems.

Footsteps in the sand...............''''''''''''
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."

Being realistic I go by what is known to me through the Bible, the many prophecies, many that have already come to pass and now we are at the end of time.
The many answers to prayer I have received making Jesus very real to me.
Some people asked me to pray for them because God listens to me.
Nonsense of course, when I pray I am expecting an answer, it may not come for a while but it will come of that I am sure.
A lot of people pray and then forget about it and they may not see the answer when it comes.
What all came before Jesus is not important to me as it will make no difference in what I now believe.
We now have the Bible which did not exist before .............
Jesus preached in the Temple, It WAS His Father's house.
The people were astounded at his wisdom at such an early age................
The Boy Jesus at the Temple
41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”

49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
This part always gets me, here on earth we look for love, expect love in return when we show love, only to be disappointed most of the time. The Lord God Almighty loves us unconditionally, more than any human, but people have such a hard time understanding. As a mother I feel Gods love is like a mothers love for her child, not always loving the things they do but always loving them.
Thank you hplady for those heartfelt words and thoughts..................
John the Baptist Beheaded
14 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus, 2 and he said to his attendants, “This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.”

3 Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, 4 for John had been saying to him: “It is not lawful for you to have her.” 5 Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people because they considered John a prophet.

6 On Herod’s birthday the daughter of Herodias danced for the guests and pleased Herod so much 7 that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she asked. 8 Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he ordered that her request be granted 10 and had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. 12 John’s disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.
Jenny, this blog is interesting and informative. I have just read all your thoughtful comments and posts. Stay blessed. I think it’s a special calling to be a devoted Christian. angel hug
Butch, if you think of it, God is egoist, we’re here to worship and follow him... since we’re made in the image of God, we’re also egoist. We have the power of doing good or bad. But the fallen angels are the rebels and couldn’t accept that there’s a God , the ungrateful and the reason they are spreading misery on earth.sad flower
Thank you for your kind words Joy, I was led to this because we are living in the end times, so time is running out. It is easy to see by what is going on in the world..............teddybear
Question: "What does the Bible teach about the Trinity?"

Answer: The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to perfectly and completely understand it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain. God is infinitely greater than we are; therefore, we should not expect to be able to fully understand Him. The Bible teaches that the Father is God, that Jesus is God, and that the Holy Spirit is God. The Bible also teaches that there is only one God. Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different Persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. However, this does not mean the Trinity is not true or that it is not based on the teachings of the Bible.

The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods. Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word “Trinity” is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God—three coexistent, co-eternal Persons who are God. Of real importance is that the concept represented by the word “Trinity” does exist in Scripture. The following is what God’s Word says about the Trinity:

1) There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5).
Myself? I find it utterly amazing that the Almighty is seeking to communicate with us through prayer.
I find that mindblowing.
Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane was disappointed in the apostles, it was just before He knew He would be crucified. He asked them to stay awake with him throughout this terrible hour. Again Jesus is seeking the companionship of men. The apostles had all fallen asleep.
Jesus in His sorrow prayed to His Father to please take this cup from me, his crucifixion.
Crucifixion was the way it was done in those days to all men criminals etc.
I’d like to add that prayers purpose is not to just ask God for things that He knows we need, but to build a relationship with Him.

Blessings. wave
Exactly that is it.You really nailed it....... Calmheart the Lord is seeking a relationship with us.............amazing is it not?.................wave
Question: "Why didn’t the disciples always recognize Jesus after His resurrection?"

Answer: The Bible does not specifically tell us why the followers of Christ did not always recognize Jesus after His resurrection. As a result, some of the following is speculation. Keeping this in mind, there are a few things that might have contributed to the disciples not recognizing Jesus immediately when He first appeared to them after His resurrection. First, even though Jesus had predicted that He would rise again on the third day, the disciples did not fully understand (Mark 9:32), because clearly they were not looking for Him to be resurrected. This can account for some of their surprise and shock at seeing Him.

One of the instances where Jesus was not recognized was Mary Magdalene’s coming to the tomb early in the morning (John 20:15). Instead of recognizing Jesus, she first mistook Him for the gardener. One thing that is important to remember is that we do not know how far Mary was from Jesus when she misidentified Him. It could be that she was simply too far to clearly recognize who He was until He spoke to her. Second, we must remember that since it was very early in the morning, the light would not have been very bright which could also have made it more difficult for her to see Him clearly. When we couple that with the fact that she was not expecting to see Him alive, it is easy to see why she did not recognize Him from a distance until He spoke to her.

A second instance in which Jesus was not immediately recognized was when the disciples did not recognize Him when they were out fishing (John 21:4). This could also be related to the distance Jesus might have been from them. A third instance is when the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35) did not recognize Jesus until He broke bread. How could these two disciples have walked, talked, and eaten with Jesus without recognizing Him? In this instance, it seems that they were supernaturally prevented from recognizing Jesus. Jesus perhaps had taken on a different appearance to keep Himself from being recognized. Why would Jesus have done this? The Bible does not say. Perhaps Jesus “veiled” His identity so the two disciples would truly think through the things Jesus was saying, rather than accepting the teaching blindly, as they likely would have if they had known it was Jesus.

What we can know for certain is that it was Jesus Himself who appeared to them because of all the testimony of those who saw the resurrected Christ. In addition, there was a witness of the remarkable change that took place in the lives of the disciples. Immediately before and after the crucifixion, the eleven apostles were in hiding in fear, yet after spending considerable time with the resurrected Christ, they became fearless evangelists proclaiming the gospel boldly no matter how strong the opposition. In addition, all eventually gave their lives for the sake of the gospel. Only witnessing the resurrected Jesus Christ can account for such a radical change.
In my personal stories, I told of answered prayer and hearing His voice twice.
I am not easily given to drama or exacerbation, am a cool Dutch-born woman, very down to earth
I was raised in a home without any religion, my dad told me to find it myself.
It took me about 5 years of questioning, driving a few people wacko but I did find it.
Yes, I was a hard nut to crack but found the prophecies fascinating, they tell the past and the future.

When I told a lady that I had found Jesus, she said; "Oh I did not know He had been lost"
Yes that is what I found out too that the Lord has a great sense of humor..........PTL
Praise The Lord..................

I pray for a large family in Heaven, so you all come you hear?..............
Why Jenny. That’s si,mple. It’s grace. Amazing grace.
Would you elaborate a little more about your answer, why one and not the other receiving grace?
That's a good link ^^^^^ answers a lot of questions...thank you!
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works so that no one can boast.
Won't Heaven be boring, the Angels playing the harp all day.. Where did this come from the Angels playing the harp? Oh if they did play all day, it would drive me bunkers too soon enough......So then what, jumping on the clouds or................

We will have work to do.
The idea of working in heaven is foreign to many people. Yet Scripture clearly teaches it. When God created Adam, he "took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it" (Genesis 2:15). Work was part of the original Eden. It was part of a perfect human life.

God Himself is a worker. He didn't create the world and then retire. Jesus said, "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I, too, am working" (John 5:17). Jesus found great satisfaction in His work. "‘My food,' Jesus said, ‘is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work'" (John 4:34).

We'll also have work to do, satisfying and enriching work that we can't wait to get back to, work that'll never be drudgery. God is the primary worker, and as His image-bearers, we're made to work. We create, accomplish, set goals and fulfill them—to God's glory.

Now I am just curious as what I will be given to do, aren't you? ..................... wave
This good that you have done that.
in Proverbs 4:4 it says
Jenny, I'm thinking this is not needed now because after Jesus left he sent the Holy Spirit and it dwells in each person, we are now the temple of the Holy Spirit of God.
