Would it were otherwise.....

...A dystopian cautionary tale, worse than one from any fiction page turner.
The one party fake communist, VERY fake, state that is China, is well on it's way to completing their system of "social scoring". Based on almost universal CCTV coverage, individual personal data/social media, and, as always, reporting on each other, each citizen gets a score, for their behaviors---and thoughts. The idea is to promote pro- social behaviors, but really also to measure and to enforce support for the one Party.
It's part of the alternative to free market forces, and societies otherwise democratically trying to promote good among citizens. The higher the score, the better the baubles. Kids of high ranking Party members going to the best universities. You get it.
The new Chinese way to live. After the failures of great leaps backward, multiple megadeath famines, the cultural devolution, red gargantuans, Uyghur Konzentrationslagern,--- and the rest of it---an unsurprising next step. No need to have it voted in by citizens or legislatures. Nice. VERY nice.
Slick indeed. Want it for you and for your families and friends?

Some things I wish I could have made up more than others.

And of course, McBob would not be surprised to learn...( That perhaps

In the background as finance Overseer.
AB my friend. I get what you write. Great comments, typically. But I'm wondering, have you ever been assessed for so-called fluent ('Wernicle's') graphic aphasia. Usually a minor issue for most folks. From my work before retirement, I was able to learn to follow along.
And as boy, I meself had a touch of writing challenges. My motto in those days was" Dyslexics of the world untie."
Am afraid that the same is in the cards for the US crying
My writing style suffers from not currently being employed in Radio where I belong.

To burn off the stress of listening to really bad radio in Fresno...eYe Co-invented ball point radio.

We knew from the outset...NOT everyone was going to get it....and many would hate it.
But most would now agree...there is a thing called
Pop music & another called skynet.
Red medicine / Fugazi
R E D / Swift
.45 / the Gaslight Anthem.
Well, B, you're right about bad radio. Lot's to dislike about much of it. But still much good. College stations sometimes play decent jazz, rock, classical, blue grass and blues. Talk radio serves as a buffer to the left biased MSN. Local low watt output community ones have their plus sides, with the demise of local print media. International short wave broadcasting has mostly gone the way of the internet. And NPR (National Proletarian Radio), originally a good idea, is a coopted division of the DNC.
But your writing is fine to these eyes. The comment on aphasias was meant to be helpful.
BTW, years ago, I did a training stint at the Medical Center there. First class trauma department. And I always thought we got to see lot at the ED at Charity Horsepital in New Orleans.
