I couldn't say for certain what happened from that video.
Did she run with the intention of throwing herself in front of the train, or was she overly eager to get to the other side of the platform to catch the incoming train?
Did the man try to stop her from jumping, help her on her way, or push her off as she went to wait (at high speed) for the incoming train?
The report suggests the man did not try to run away, or resist arrest. I find that curious if he had just pushed her off the platform.
If it's possible that he was trying to stop her from jumping, it would be pretty horrible to be publicly vilified for pushing her. I'll reserve judgement given the lack of definitive proof.
What happened is much clearer in the second report.
It's a heartbreaking story all round, for the woman who must surely be traumatised, for the witnesses, the driver and the chap with mental health issues.
You need a health service, you need to address homelessness. We have unacceptable welfare issues in the UK, but you appear to have far greater social issues in the US.
I think we all need to be looking at how other countries do things to find the best and most functional ways to live.
Quite apart from the ethics of community neglect, it's simply a waste of resources when so many people aren't reaching their full potential.
