Soon I will start my education plus other things

It's the 13th of December today, and I am set to begin my truck driving education on the 18th of January, meaning that I will have 1 month and 5 days to prepare as much as I can. That means reading a lot, watching a lot of tutorial videos and so on. I am reading about how to strap a load down, the safest way to do it and what kind of things I can expect to be subjected to as a trucker. Luckily I have some friends and family who has experience with that field, so I can just ask them. It's gonna be exciting to start! But first I am gonna get my driving license. That means reading up on the rules of the road, observe when I am in a car and just ask as many questions as possible. If I am prepared enough, I am confident I will pass on the first try. But before I get to all that, Christmas needs to be done. I am pretty much all set. Gifts have been bought and wrapped. However, there is a small complication.. Well.. A big one, actually..

You see, today my mother has tested positive for covid, so she has to remain isolated for two weeks. That would mean, that she is safe to be around on the 27th.. And Christmas eve is on the 24th.. Now, I haven't seen my mother since the 21st of November, so I have not been exposed to the virus. How do I know this? Because it was someone from her choir, who tested positive. She only showed symptoms the day before yesterday, and since the virus will show a few days after exposure, I can safely say, that I am not infected. So now we are just taking one day at a time, and at some point we will talk about what to do. Maybe just say "if you show a negative test, we can get together. If not, then we will figure something out". Mainly because there are kids invited to this years festivities, and it would not be fair to possibly expose them to the virus.

We'll see what happens. Oh, I have bought two Christmas calendar scratch off things. The cheap one has a top prize of 1 million, while the more expensive one has a top prize of 4 million. One million now, and one million each Christmas for the next three years. I am quite close to win something, but not the grand prizes. Sadly. I could use that, actually. The things I could do with that money.. I could buy a house..

My dad was a trucker. I would advise you to concentrate on getting everything right and straight in your head. Don't start thinking about what curtains you will have in your house yet!

Congratulations, and hope your mom will be ok.
With all those video games you play, I imagine you have very good hand-eye co-ordination and will have no problem passing your driving test first time.

I hope your mum has only mild symptoms and recovers quickly.
