So ya stay positive!
I am guessing that the mental health of individuals have been studied extensively through the years...from the 1940's to the 1970's the most, I would assume. I am willing to bet they know the typical breaking point for your average person.
But, something tells me you might be correct.
after all the distancing and staying home, and shortage of toilet paper.. it will take a lot of drinking to get people back to normal. Best to start immediately.
Get back to enjoying life!
I totally agree with that...about the media putting a negative spin on this.
Honestly, I think people everywhere have been put through enough in this tough year. Like a smiling positive nurse talking to a patient at a hospital, we have to think positive, give people hope and encourage good days ahead.
The media and conspiracy theorists don't help. Instead of encouraging people, giving them hope and some light (positive influence) the media keeps scaring people: "You are all going to DIE if you don't wear masks!".
Conspiracy theories are another side of the story. Before COVID, conspiracy theorists were someone everybody laughed at on the internet. Who could take seriously people believing that the Earth is flat or that the reptiles rule the world! But, when this pandemic started, they went wild all over social media with their crazy theories making people completely confused and even more scared. A few weeks ago social media finally woke up and started deleting and banning all that nonsense, but the damage to the psyche of an average and not very educated person (and the majority of people on this planet are like that) is - irreversible.
In the crisis - most people need strong leadership. They need someone to tell them what to do and how to behave in order to overcome the crisis. This is not the time for indulging yourself and your whims (that's how "freedom" is usually perceived nowadays). All those confusing and sometimes opposite information media and governments have been offering day after day have made people feeling insecure and even more stressed.
People are resilient and strong animals, so they will recover, but enduring too much stress for a long time - must have some consequences. The COVID stress affected my patience with people, especially older people that need constant explaining and repeating and calming down and reassuring and - I don't have much patience left for dealing with their patronizing either.
You look like another member here.
I agree with everything you wrote.
No comment on he reptile deal though. But who knows what is really what with that.
But, I do know there is much power in the association of true friends with true laughter. We should not lose sense of that...and remain level headed...my 2 pennies anyway.
Thank you so much for your analysis....always enjoy your thoughts.
I am that member.
Whenever I spend too much here - I cancel my account. If I want to come back - then I have to open another one and wait for 7 days to post something, which means - 7 productive days for me and not timewasting mindless surfing and banter on CS.
I prefer to perceive it as prudent tactical planning.
Thus, the action itself is not necessarily evil. Instead, one needs to see how it fits into the more complex reality, than to simply isolate and judge the action itself apart from the entanglements.
The more advanced the social media the more likely it will affect whole populations.

Before cancelling the account I change my e-mail address into something that doesn't exist and type in some complicated password that I cannot remember and I don't write down anywhere. That way I prevent myself from logging into the old account, so I have to be patient and - productive.
Job well done then.
It's not easy to trick yourself.
been feeling stressed and depressed the past few weeks but trying to focus good things and stay positive.
That is interesting. I think I will give that link you provided a check out. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It has got me fascinated when you introduce technology in with psychology.
I do agree....in realistic, it is easier said than done to maintain that level.
Also, I think I understand what you are saying about before the evil takes hold.
I wonder how long before it takes evil to take a firm grasp on one and turn them into pure evil where the deeds they do are of evil nature.
I believe many many many people can relate with you on how you feel. This is sorta the reason why I brought up this blog. I was listening the Father Malachi Martin a few months ago (I have brought his name up before)...but I found it interesting when he was talking about possession...he mentioned when you start feeling that dark heavy weight internally bringing you down....he says that is the beginning of evil infiltrating somebody.
Stay positive Ms CH....is about all I can say...in my opinion.
You are self-disciplined when CS is concerned. I'm not. I'm weak and get easily possessed by the demon of CS addiction.
It seems that my only cure is - to stay away from the source of evil for good.
I think I am fairly well disciplined. But I have my weaknesses....like sugar.
I bet you have yourself in life right where you want to be...for the most part.
I was VERY self-disciplined in the past, then some things happened, that all went to ruin and now I have to rebuild my self-discipline from scratch. Wasting my time here doesn't help.
These are stressful times and CS is all doom and gloom. Even if you try to bring in some light - it's like lightning a candle in the deep dark cave with a strong wind blowing. Each time I came back, after my period or productivity and visiting some relaxing and nice sites on the internet, I was very positive with lots of ideas for funny and entertaining threads and blogs, but - only after a few days - this whole atmosphere would begin to suffocate me - politics, COVID, dark news from all over the world, confusion, paranoia, people fighting over nonsense... And I would lose the desire to write anything nice and - literally get depressed.
Maybe it's better to look for some more cheerful place - at least until this all gets over and people cheer up a little...
Maybe CS really needs some exorcism.
You too.
Another thing that helps, for me anyway, is keeping a clean and tidy house. I don't do well around clutter and dirt. ...it feels like chaos to me.
Also, the negative news says to eat healthy and exercise. I know exercise is a tremendous help to the mind.
I hope you are doing well and staying positive during these days. It is very nice to see you again.
As a side note,
I am kinda drooling as I hear the coffee pot making it first batch.
Take care...
After today's discussions about politics, wars and COVID - I think that I have no energy left. There are definitely some energy-sucking demons on this site, we just don't see them.
The time for closing this account is approaching fast...
Because I don't believe in the divil, I dont believe in evil either but I suppose lack of strength and belief has to be blamed on something more so than accepting wrong with right....anyways perhaps I've confused you a little but thats my thoughts all the same
Nice to hear from you...stay safe over there...and positive.
