Super Bowl

I'm not a football fan (I was when my son played though) but I come from a strong football loving family. Mom, Dad and my baby sister have long held season tickets. Of course Mom and Dad had to give theirs up when old age started stripping life from them.

Tampa's team is the Buccaneers and Tampa is hosting the Super Bowl. Ironically the Buccaneers are playing in the Bowl. The Bucks color is orange. I will always have the memory of anytime I visited my folks they would always be dressed a like in supporting the Bucks on TV.

I don't know how long football has been going on but my folks were at the start . Last week when the Bucks played in the playoffs they watched it together, Mom watched from home with the phone and Dad with his phone in his hospital home. One with their mind, one with a wandering mind but both experienced some joy or happiness during that short span of time. I'm sure today will be special for them.

Today is Super Bowl - I only get excited about the commercials. I bet my family is going to have a specially fun day and if the Bucs win - not only my family but this whole town is going to be Mardi Gras HAPPY.

I just may throw myself a tailgate party while I watch a movie during the bowl.

Good morning, Unfayzed wave

I am now confused confused

Is the Super Bowl not on the 7th February?
You're right and I just realized what a blunder my blog is thinking the SB is today when the Bowl is next week. Premature excitement burst out of me.

Sorry folks
One of the biggest challenges since retirement and the pandemic is knowing what day it is, I just stay out of tune.
I just may throw myself a tailgate party while I watch a movie during the bowl.

Isn't that supposed to be a cardinal sin?laugh
All bets are off. Sister called to say she went to Mom's today, found her on kitchen floor from a fall. Mom's okay but staying the night in the hospital for observation.

You just can't count your chickens before they hatch.
I am sending good thoughts to your mom...Hope she is doing better.

You certainly can tell that you don’t follow the Bucs...They haven’t worn orange for years....except in a few throwback games..when they would wear the creamsicle uniforms...they wear pewter and red now. I think they changed their uniforms around the time they built the new stadium.

My late husband was a huge Bucs fan....even through their 26 loses in a row. He had the number 63 orange jersey..Lee Roy Selmon’s...which he wore every game day...We lost that jersey on a family vacation..He never let me live that one down...in his good-natured kidding way that he had.

I will be watching the game...at my daughter’s home and I will bring the orange towel that I still have...with me...And, root for Tom Brady..and the Bucs...He (my late husband) would be tickled at that...and I like to think that he would laugh about..the family rooting for Brady...

Our family motto always was the only thing better than the Bucs winning..is the Patriots losing...Well Brady, did prove me wrong..I always thought he was lucky to be on such a good team...for all those wins...Hee definitely proved me wrong...
