Covid Positive

Hi guys! This is a recount of my experience when I became positive of Covid even with vaccination 2 weeks prior.

Monday. It was a normal day, there wasn't even a lot of work. But I couldn’t control my sleepiness throughout the day. And the nagging pain in the middle point in my back I thought was just caused by the cold. I also felt really lazy, but I shrugged it off and pushed myself to do extra work just so I can forget about being sleepy.

Tuesday. Same thing, uncontrollable sleepiness, and back pain. This time I just gave in to laziness and did only what i had to do that day. Cough started, not severe, but noticeable. I was weak and despite everybody complaining of being hot, i was cold even when i have jacket on. I got home after work and slept early. At around 11pm, i was shaking. With very high fever. I think i was shaking for more than an hour. But at 1am I just got up and drank hot water. And sent my colleague a text that I will not make it to work in the morning.

Wednesday. I went to the employee physician and she ordered swabbing for covid. I was already taking meds so, the doctor said to just continue with the meds. I took a swab and went home to isolate as per policy. I was not feeling good. So I just slept. I had fever and chills again around 1am.

Thursday. The report came in Positive. I was kind of expecting it because I never had chills before when I get fever. Also the sick feeling is so different than I’ve ever experienced before.

Friday. Nausea. I tried my best to pour out whatever is trying to get out from my guts, but they just wouldn’t go. And the bitter taste in my mouth stays no matter how many times I brush and gargle. But no more fever and cough has subsided. Thank God.

Hopefully I will have a full recovery soon.
Be safe everyone.

So your saying the vaccine didn't work or you were already infected before you got vaccinated confused
I hope you are all right. How did you get the vaccine when you look so young?

Get better.
Hi @nice2meetyoutoo

I got it after i got vaccinated, most probably because of the time sequence. 2 weeks had already passed before any symptom appeared.
@Unfazed

I am a frontliner, and we are prioritized to get vaccines first. Thank you.
I think that you caught covid (despite getting a vaccination) because there was not enough time for your body to build an antibody immune response (i.e the time after the vaccination was not enough to protect you). It is suggested that 3 months may be required (after the first vaccination); for the body to achieve an optimal response to the (first) vaccination - after which a booster shot is required. Anyway, (having said that), get well soon....bouquet
It is also possible that it was the reason I got Covid then. After getting the vaccine, I was just stressed and couldn’t sleep enough. At times I will only have 2 hours of sleep. My immune system suffered.

Anyway, thank you for your well wishes.
Chell...I kind of wonder too if you did not get Covid due to your shots. I have hear of it before where people caught the virus right after their shots.

...sorry to hear about you lack of sleep...sounds like a familiar story to me

Hope you get through it ok. Be well! heart beating
Which vax were you given? your test could have been false positive.

Hi, the vaccine was given 2 weeks prior. It was AZ CoviShield. I am tge one who did my own swab, I'm sure I did it correctly. And the symptoms the I am experiencing tells me that this is not at all false positive because I've never been this sick my entire life. smile
I hope you conquer it and feel much better soon. bouquet
