Nine days away from the interview that'll shape my future!
As you probably know, I am set to begin my truck driving education in August, and before I can begin, the school needs to meet me and see who I am. I did this last year as well, but it's standard procedure when you sign up for the education. So, on the 20th of april at 11 am, I am set to have a short conversation with the same person as the last time. This time, I am having a few questions, one of them is about the trucking in Canada. If it's something you have to be fully educated to do, or what the rules are regarding that.
I also have to ask how long the work experience periods are, since it wasn't clear on the info I found. All I know is, that I am super excited to start, and seeing as the country should be fully vaccinated by July, in-person school should be a thing, which is exciting!
I have begun looking for cheap cars to drive around in. I am thinking under or around 25.000 DKK, which is $4000. I can get some decent stuff for that, so I'm gonna spend some time looking around. Dealers usually have some cheap stock that they aren't advertising, and I am not picky as to what make or model. If it can get me from A to B in relative comfort, then that's fine by me. Naturally, it has to be mechanically sound, so I won't end up with a broken down car five minutes down the road from where I bought it.
But first things first: The interview. Once I have passed my driving test, then I will put the car-buying plan into action

So is it a drivers license for car also or only the truck this time?
I presume you already have a car license?
Reliable cars are Toyota, especially Corolla and Mercedes diesel if you're not scared of rust.
And I would only pay 10.000kr.
I recently bought a ford focus bensin 2003 for only 5000nok.
It has by now ran 10000km without a hickup.
I am getting four driving licenses: Forklift truck, car, truck and trailer. Furthermore, I am also getting all the certificates that I need in order to be a trucker. Absolutely fantastic!
I have been looking at old Toyota's, VW's and Mercs, as well as Audis and old Fords. I would prefer an automatic gearbox, and the cheapest I can find is 20 year old 2 liter Golf IV stationcar, with leather seats and everything. I am not keen on leather seats, but the automatic gearbox is making me go "awh yes!". But if I wanted to get a manual, I could get a 1.5 liter Suzuki Swift. The cheapest Mercedes I can find is an E300, which can be mine for 25.000 kroner. Cars here in Denmark are kind of expensive, but a Merc for 25.000 kroner is a steal!
What year model is that merc? Is it the marvellous classical 124 kaross?
I would like to haul whatever I can haul. Lumber, tankers or regular freight, it doesn't matter. As long as I get to haul stuff :)
10k dkk = 13.5 nok
250d, slightly underpowered but still a good cruiser.
Is sedan ok or you need the space in the back of a stationcar?
Here the whole list of diesel pre 1995 at the moment, but now and then a 300d comes around for about 25.000 nok.
