Love at First Sight
I'm not sure I believe in love at first sight however I certainly believe in that more than I believe in falling in love over the internet. I know it "can" happen but not normally, there is an exception to every rule don't you know.It did happen to me once long ago. I was in my early twenties, walked into a mystic book shop and was swept ooff my feet by this itty bitty tiny little black 2 year old Pekingese that belonged to the owner. I made a fool of myself trying to talk that owner into selling me that dog. I got on my knees, offered a ring off my finger and/or a blank check.....A BLANK CHECK? What an idiot I was but I was desparate even after the woman gave me a big fat NO. I left my number promising her I could do better by the dog than she could.
The next morning she called with a price which I jumped on. I named the little dog Magic which is exactly what she was to my heart. I've never taken leave of my senses like I did that day. That was the dog that made my husband coin the saying, "When I die I want to come back as one of Fay's dogs".
Much like the men in my life, I've gone through several dogs. The one I have now, Bella is the fifth dog I've had an extreme bond with, although I've owned many more dogs or other pets than five.
Thinking back as I'm writing I believe I've been in love with four humans and five canines in my time. Bella is approaching her pink slip and could poof as she is 16 or hang in there defying death like my Dad for years. Of course it crosses my mind - will I love again?
A client once told me that I was not in a relationship with a man because I was not lonely with my tiny little companion by my side. Who knows? And as I love to say Who Cares.

Nice to see you again
Although a parrot of around 40 or 50 years is surely up for contention. I mean one owner since around 2 or 3 weeks of age.
Dogs are easier to trust, but there is an explanation for that 'eyes meeting across the room' thing we do with humans, too.
It's all about picking up on body language cues which inform us about that person, even cues which go back to our experiences in our formative years.
It can happen over the internet (with humans and dogs), but we have less body language information with photos than we do with face to face observation.
Lovely to see you. How is everything with you?
I must have been 17 at the time when my brother and I went to the Miami Speedway to see the Mini Cooper class racers.
Have you got any trips home planned?
Meanwhile, Art and I will just travel around within the US.
One day hopefully this Covid mess will be behind us and we can travel overseas again...but there is part of me that is enjoying getting out a bit more locally.
In other words, you´re in love - or think you are! - with the image they transmit. It´s just an illusion as far as I am concerned.
Hello again- I agree... I LOVED Mt St Helens. The area is beautiful, but then I got to spend a day out there with an old friend. Laughter and conversation go a long way towards making an experience better.
Arizona's desert areas are stunning.
I can speak highly of Niagara Falls as well. Amazing place... so many different things to do.
...but I am a big believer in opening your mind and taking experiences in... enjoying them, exploring them and being open to new information.
Hello there... I heard it crassly referred to as 'mental m**turbation' recently and laughed... that actually fits. Intelligence and personality goes a long way.
Infatuation can be appealing as long as you realise that's all it is over long distance.. you will never really know a person until they are standing before you...and even then, do you ever really know a person?!
Exactly!
At long distance someone can stimulate your mind but...it needs more effort as the body language is missing!
Also..it's only a temporary madness, as one can easily and very quickly get bored...without the lack of stimulation, which requires a lot of imagination from the stimulator.
"Logic will get you from A to B, but IMAGINATION will take you anywhere"

I agree with the rest of your comment.
Well that explains why I go from A to B so often... I thought it was because I was on a train... but it seems I lack imagination.
I swear that's probably why I love Art Galleries so much... I can see where ideas and concepts go ... show appreciation, awe... or literally question why it exists at times. But I appreciate that we don't always follow the same journey in life.
That reminds me of a story my Grandmother told me of the London Underground... she was drinking champagne for the first time... and it went straight to her head. Her friend and her went around the Underground for hours quite lost- it was 1915 and she was with her best friend. She shared the story with me to remind me that all teenagers go through a rebellious period. Although I am not sure how rebellious drinking champagne from a hip flask was.

Many years ago I used to blog on sites that were frequented by writers... It was an incredible time. I have always said that the subsequent conversations after the initial topic is what makes it more interesting.
