Grand Canyon Road Trip

Hi all. I’m planning a Grand Canyon road trip this September for my birthday month. I need to start traveling. Do things that are fun. I just need a lot of advice though because I’ve never planned a trip this large by myself. Any experienced travelers out there up to give me some pointers?

So far my mom told me to stay in Flagstaff and then drive up to it. I kinda want to stay away from tourists areas when I’m not at the Grand Canyon to minimize someone taking advantage of me as I will be alone. So far I was thinking of just winging the entire trip. I’m kinda digging the idea of spontaneity. Is that a bad idea?? Thanks in advance!

I thought my parents were gonna be like oh you can’t go there by yourself but nope. The opposite happened. My mom told me I would really enjoy it. I also told my dad that I need to find a security part for my car so I can travel with it and he just said okay. No asking where are you going, no nothing. There’s no leash there anymore with my parents. That kinda feels eerie...like are you guys really my parents? laugh

I figure I could have some experience traveling that way I’m not green by the time I go on Titanic 2 which is still very much a fantasy at this point.

I will be leaving from Fresno, CA by car if that matters. Happy Sunday! wave

What was the very best for me was the movie about the canyon.
It is right in the beginning and it saves you taking a helicopter flight as the movie
takes you in one and a lot more. Very exciting for sure.
There are natives living in the canyon but you would never find them
Have a look at what Google tells you about the canyon
You won't be sorry going that is for sure..................wave

I saw it back in the 80's. Biggest deepest hole in the ground I've ever seen. Took one look and I don't ever want to see it again.
I like all kinds of road trips Mermaid.

Jenny...you reminded me to see what their rules about covid are. Thanks! I don’t think it’ll be too hard to plan just a little. I probably won’t end up doing much because I heard the hike there was tiring plus I have to drive 8 hours straight. That will be tiring too. Might just look up where the best restaurants are. I know I want to float in the Colorado river for sure. So that’s three things to do right there. I definitely want to see if they have things that aren’t where I live.

What was your favorite road trip thus far, Oz?
Mermaidhair
Oh and yes Jenny, I will need to get my tickets and room early but not too early because my workplace sometimes won’t approve my time off. It’s really weird but oh well.
No need to go for hikes just make sure you see the IMax movie,
Make sure you are sitting next to a cute guy as you will need to hold on to someone while you
scream well I did lol..................wave

Oh it’s that good eh? Alright.

The Grand Canyon itself will be a hike. I watched a lady on YouTube visit there and she was out of breath so I’m gonna take water, snacks, and comfy shoes.
Ship to Copenhagen, drive through: Rotterdam/amsterdam- paris- andorra,- barcelona- cannes- milano- germany- back to start.
Paris was the best experience, Irish pubs in Paris = the best,
and the dutch people are nice as f.
