Teaching English

Today I had a session with a Chinese mum and her daughter. The mum I have known for years, and for her daughter I've recorded some books before. Today they gave me some simple English books to read - at a glance I could see too easy, so I resorted to Whimpy kid... A series I dislike quite intensely, for gender and slang and Americanism reasons, but both mom and daughter laughed and enjoyed it. Too hard for the girl, but both want to continue with it...
My maths students seldom laugh! But Whimpy in mummy's belly with memories thereof, that was funny. Dickens and Oliver Twist.

If you can get them to enjoy the lessons, they are likely to invest themselves into it. thumbs up
