I am truly sore.
Last night I played 2 games (double header) of softball in south NJ.One was a regularly scheduled game and one was a rainout make-up game.
I did a tremendous amount of running..... in both games.
This morning I had a regularly scheduled double header in central NJ.
4 games in 16 hours is more than what I played, when I was 25 years old.
I'm well over twice that age now.
Next year, I'm holding on my contracts, until I get a lovely full time masseuse guaranteed.
You teammates want me running in the outfield, running when I get on base, and running for you,
when you get on base (courtesy runner), better pony up some ca..ching for my new to be hired masseuse.
Too bad my usual one, is currently living on her yacht off the coast of Florida.

as for getting into cold tubs, I wouldn't hop into one even if to save my life.
If I were to recommend a healthy soak, I'd go with a seaweed bath
P.S. I WOULD get into ice to save my life, but it might take that to do so.
P.S. 2 I am no longer sore. Drinking water and a hot shower eased it tremendously.
Plus having dinner didn't hurt either.
I concur with with Celtic-witch regarding being fit and active etc etc.
Anyways, as for softball. I used to play in my younger days up until the age of sweet 16. It was either cricket or softball as a summer sport but softball wasn't really that popular compared to cricket which is ironic because NZ won heaps of international world cups etc. Within the past ten yrs, baseball is popular here with a few scouts from America, Japan etc signing up some of our best softball players switching code. I'll always have a soft spot (pardon the pun) for softball.
Good on ya mate, I'm envious of your fitness levels and commitment to stay active regardless of your libtard communist leanings. I say that as a joke.
Start slowly and just add a tiny bit more each session. Keep a written record of what you did each time, so you can witness how much you improve over a long time.
Do something to improve your health at least 3 times a week. Again, start very slow and
add a little bit more each time. If you do that, after a year, you will be in much better shape and it will never be more than you can handle.
The mistake most people make, is that they try to go all out in the beginning. They get sore and they dread doing it again. People get out of shape slowly over time and should get in shape slowly by challenging themselves just a tiny bit more each time.
I'm still active but not in a team sport sort of way eg softball, rugby or cricket for that matter.
I prefer individual "sport" like fishing and once in a blue moon hunting but being a smoker and beer connoisseur, my health could be better.
I'm enviouse, I'm not jealous. There's a huge difference but having said that, I 100% agree with your comment.
Chur Bro
I disagree with one thing you said Jim..If you feel sore after working out that's normal because it means ones technique is correct..If you don't feel sore then it was a lazy workout..First time exercising of course you will feel sore..Using muscle ect that isn't normally used will do that.
I attend the gym sic days a week as well as working out here at home..Of course I'm sore after every intense workout.
full service...
All I can say humbly is thank you.
I was an avid fan of his dad, Schalk snr. during the late 80's and needless to say of the Hulk himself. Exceptional men in the true sense.
Ahhh you mean Ekself. I did communicate with her but not on a regular basis. What I do recall is that she had a cottage/hut/lean-to? on a mountain in the East London area. Decent down to earth lady with no chip on her shoulder. Hope she returns.
Sorry for the off topic comment Jim.
Good informative blog
wish I knew my stuff as much as you seem to.
