Gearing up for the move! Plus dating fails..

Soon I will pack my belongings and move to a bigger room about ten minutes from me. It's the second time since May, so hopefully this will be for a longer period than three months. I am very excited, actually. I have all the money I have to pay on my savings account, so I can actually move in tomorrow, but the landlord is on holiday and will be home on Sunday the 25th. So we agreed on the 26th, where I can come and see the room I am renting.

As the attentive reader might have remembered, I went to see the room last month. However, that room has been rented out to someone else. But the room next to it will be available from the 1st, so I am gonna have a look at that. I then began to think "What if she rents out the other room as well, before I move in?".. The landlord is a woman.. Anyway.. That made me write her a message, stating that I didn't need to view the room, and I would be moving in on the 1st of August. She then replied that the room was mine, but she still wanted to show it to me, so that I wouldn't feel cheated or anything. Quite a great thing to do!

So here we are - going to have a look at the room on the 26th.. If the precious tenant has moved out, I might actually ask if I could move in before the 1st. I would then be hauling boxes in a shopping trolley, which I have no problem doing. I would be going back and forth a few times, but that wouldn't bother me. As long as I move in, I don't care how long it'll take. It can take one hour or five hours. As long as it gets done.

Now, a few weeks ago, I posted a blog about me wanting to starting to date again. I joined a few dating sites: Tinder, Bumble, Mingle2 and Tantan. After a few days, I was contacted by a Chinese woman. I thought "Why not give it a go..".. She had a UK number, but was based in Hong Kong, where she was on business. Within three messages, she asked me if I invested in anything. When I said it wasn't for me, she went "Why not? Have you tried it?".. I then politely explained that it simply wasn't for me, and it wouldn't be at all. Apparently she didn't get that, because she went on and on about how much money she earned by investing, and that I would miss the good market if I didn't invest right then and there. For the third time, I explained it simply wasn't for me.. Silence.. "Alright, time to look around again", I thought to myself. I was then contacted by a Chinese woman, living in Hong Kong (not the same as the last one), but the messages were very similar. Almost like they were writing from a script. Anyway.. The subject of investing came up after the second message. Again, same as before: I said it wasn't for me, which she didn't seem to get. So that was a bust. "Alright, maybe not respond to Chinese women again..", was my immediate thought. Then, guess what: Yet another Chinese woman living in Hong Kong wrote me. "Third time lucky, eh?", was my thought. I replied, expecting to be bombarded with "Investing? Why not?", but to my surprise, she was actually not touching that subject. Fast forward three days, and the subject fell on investing. When I explained that I have what I need, and that I don't need to add to my income, I was told I live a life without goals and ideals.. So yeah, that was a bust again..

Maybe stop replying to Chinese women would be a start. Maybe contact an English woman, or an American perhaps.. Maybe a Russian or Polish woman.. Or maybe scrap dating apps all together and go...

OUTSIDE!!!

I know.. Me.. Outside.. But actually, something happened that I am not used to - women smiling at me.. One such case happened when I was heading to a shop to buy something to drink. I was wearing my Slipknot hockey jersey, and I noticed this girl in a Metallica shirt. We locked eyes, nodded and smiled to each other, and that was that. Should I go looking for her? Or would that be considered creepy?

The next time that happens, walk up to her and say (anything except a dumb pick-up line) "Hi. You have a lovely smile. I bet you hear that a lot though." Or ANYTHING that is genuine. Opportunities are fleeting. The smile was an invitation to meet.
