I vividly remember my first letter to a man long distance that I sent, and a thoughtful one too, with no replu...so what can one do??

it does make sense, that if you reply to a letter, the guy may think you are interested in him. This happened to me too. I just wanted to let him know we did not have enough in common to continue. dunno

The women probably do not reply for the same reason men do not reply to women, they just are not interested due to the fact you do not meet their criteria:
we are to old
are not attractive enough
do not have the perfect figure
do not share enough common interests

I agree with Eve, you probably just don't match their profile search. Like I have lots of mail from smokers even though I state "no smokers". Sometimes I wonder if anyone reads the profiles. I will never respond when no photo is on-line. Don't take it personnally.crying

But i did not have problem so far..
I think as long you clearly and politely reply that you are not interested they should understand unless they are ...well thickdoh
If they keep bothering you ,then block them perhaps.

I answer messages if it is from someone who matches what I am looking for and there is a picture. If they don't take the time to read what I am interested in, why should I reply.

I guess I'm different. I answer all the mail that is sent to me, even if the person doesn't 'match' me. I figure the worst that can happen is that my circle of friends expands. I was told once that you can't have too many friends. cheers

I heard it's because they get so many, they can't possibly respond to them all. My inbox is the same.....dead....and the dating site I used before this one, my inbox was dead. You will probably have to email like 100 before you get a reply.
