The age of Aquarium...

Calculating the volume of a tank 84" long x 36" deep x 48" high = 145,152 cubic inches.
That's roughly 628 gallons. Use 1" thick acrylic mounted on a 2 x 2 welded metal frame 36" high braced every 16 inches. Wrap it with access doors on 3 sides to allow storage and changing of the filtration system.

I'm contracted to do a decorative wood surround for a salt water aquarium.
The actual design/concept is pretty easy with a few flip doors and removable panels.
All the seams have to be overlapped so light doesn't transmit through the panels in the canopy that houses strips of high intensity LED lighting.

Everything has to be sealed as the humidity will be high and the salt will be corrosive.
My choice would be a catalyzed paint and primer system.
My fear is the toxicity as some paints though considered dry will give out VOC's (Volatile organic compounds) for many weeks after the application.
I brought this up to the project manager who awarded the work to my company.

The suggestion is to use low VOC water based primer and paint and get everyone (manager, architect, aquarium fabricator, client) to give their blessing and keep my company from any liability should a few thousand in exotic fish perish.

Build early, paint early, let it fully dry before installation.

I used to enjoy watching this show for their creative tank ideas and the variety of fish;
