Mustang MACH-E...

A few weeks ago I saw an SUV on the road that I didn't recognize. It had a Ford Mustang emblem on the back and on the center badge for the rims.
Taking a closer look, there wasn't a tailpipe on this car!

Woah... electric.

Yes, it's the 2021 Ford Mustang MACH-E all electric car.

There are basically 2 camps about electric cars... Those who believe they suck, or those who believe they're great.

Priced over $40,000 I know it's not on my list of cars to buy. But it does support some awesome eye-candy appeal.

Cool color too! A friend just sent his '64 Mustang in to be painted that same new twister orange color.. wave
The car in the picture is the GT model, with the starting price $64,900. A very good looking car indeed, but way out of my price range.

I had a GT and it was a fun car to drive. Just wouldn’t seem the same without the sound of the rumble of the engine..

I am hoping my car lasts me for another 10 years, then I will buy an affordable electric car. I will have a 220v installed in my garage when I get one.

My worry is that most older Americans, on fixed incomes, will not have the money to buy a new car...and, gas prices will become so high, they will be forced to be more isolated in their homes.
The way of the future, the electric cars applause i would love one but do not drive now as i find drivers (well most) are dangerous.
gone... around here there are several community transportation services for the elderly.
Free bus rides that run several times per hour. They pass hospitals, medical centers, shopping, etc. Also available, Uber and Lyft for those without cars.

My nephew lived in downtown Miami for a while and would rent e-cars per hour to get around.

Not every big city is like this but I foresee more ride sharing and 'pay as you go' transportation in the years to come.
I live in a second floor condo with a reserved parking space visible across a courtyard. Thinking about the obstacle to get a 150 feet of electrical cord to charge a vehicle isn't possible. It would take several 'influential' residents to propose charging stations at the end of each building.

I ran a cord to vacuum my car once and surprised someone didn't complain.
The next time I did it was with a battery powered vacuum system.

Battery power in the right environment is awesome. Ask anyone who drives a Tesla.
I see you've moved a step ahead of us here, looking at the link it's advertised as "zero tailpipe emissions", here they're still called zero emissions, which is of course nonsense, European governments seem to think electricity grows on trees doh
Agreed, the power has to come from somewhere.
It could be argued either way...
Should it be from several thousand cars in a city burning gas or one power plant 50 miles away with huge generators that already power the city?
Chat, that opens a whole new argument laugh from what I've read doesn't matter where in the world you look those out of town generators only just about manage with current load requirements, with a date of 2025 muted as the change point from gas to electric cars not quite sure where they plan on getting all this extra electric sigh
I took my car to the dealer for an oil change today...I always waste time waiting, looking at the new cars. There were only 5 new cars on the lot...I thought there was a car show somewhere....Seems there is a chip shortage for cars...hardly any new cars on any of the car lots in my area...
In a city in the UK the city council decided to install a diesel generator in the main car park for re-charging electric cars, they gleefully explained that it took ONLY 8 litres of diesel to fully charge a Tesla.

Never mentioning the pollution a diesel gen would createdoh

Then there is snow, in the UK 2cm of snow brings the entire country to a halt, so what does the government intend to do when there is an accident on a motorway, creating a massive tailback, all having their heaters on full blast? Will they be lining all motorways with diesel gennys to keep cars/trucks charged up?

That electric is the way forward is in no doubt, but to think it can happen in the next ten years is fanciful, hydrogen powered cars will be coming forward long before electric cars are worth all the hassle.

To ban diesel is just the governments trying to sound as if they care about climate change without thinking about the realities electric vehicles will bring when the weather etc causes problems.
