Just another Sunday

Went to my paddling waters last Sunday and on the road there everything was fine for the first 60 km. Then the brakes stopped to answer to my attempts to engage them. Experienced fear of good for the third time in my life, but made it to the destination, stomach full of butterflies. Made it back home after paddling as well.

Saw no seal.

But have surprised a swain family – two adults and two chickens, now in their swainy teens – coming with the elements from behind an island. Was observing them since the late of July, when I saw them for the first time, the chickens newly hutched then. A very distinguished family, as one of the chickens was white from the beginning, while the usual dress is grey. Took a few pictures.

The car is left for repairs, I’m stranded at home… Ah well, it’s too windy anyway.

I'm glad to hear you got home safe, Tule. Are you going to post your pictures?
Well... I have been told a brazillion times how to post pictures here and I still cannot. Those pictures luck sharpness, anyway. They have only a sentimental value :)

But perhaps, I'll include one of them in my 2022 calendar. I'll order a few exemplars with the pictures of this year. A New Year gift for myself and a few friends.
Posting pictures does seem a hassle, Tule, I must agree.
My Norwegian friends were telling me how their electric car has to have the brakes deliberately used sometimes to keep them working properly, as normally taking the foot off the accelerator stops it fast enough.
Ducks are a tad weird. Ducklings are even weirder. Ducks mate for life.

I've never witnessed it personally but the story goes that when ducklings hatch, they'll follow you no matter where and form a bond. Similar to dogs I guess but ducks are inquisitive, resourceful and like the saying goes......"water off a ducks back" but they'll remember you. Similar to elephants too I spose.

Never kill a single duck with his/her partner unless you need to thumbs up

ps, Man, I'm hungry and have mouths to feed whilst tucking into KFC pleading the fifth
Well... "fast enough" isn't always working on a motor-way, when you need to reduce the speed fast, plain and simple.

As for example, when you are already accelerating to overtake a lorry and a car, that was hanging after it for ages, suddenly shifts to the left line without engaging blinkers.

Needless to say, though, that I wasn't challenging the gods' patience while driving with dodgy brakes, but drove in the right line, nice and easy. And relatively slowly.
That sounds very dangerous, brakes working on one side but not the other. Normally they're paired front and back.

I'm glad you didn't have an accident..
I'm glad too. But on the other hand, if I had an accident, especially a fatal one, I'd skip to pay a fortune for the new brakes :)
That would depend on who the fatality was, we either hear nothing from you, in which case we are sad. Or we hear a small bit whenever the authorities allow. which we are also sad about, but not as much.

I'd prefer if you got the brakes fixed, before there is a problem.
The car is at the repairing facility :)
I'm glad you made it home without an accident and that the vehicle is being repaired.
Brakes are important.

How nice to see a swan family. Perhaps a seal will be viewed next time, after the brakes are repaired, of course. head banger
I always live in hope, Jim :)
You make me wish I lived near the sea, Tule. sigh
I's be like a rat up a drainpipe, trying to get into her pants.
Well, apart from the drainpipe and the pants, you've made a good start, pat. smile
Yeah, it is what it is.
You make me wish, you lived near the sea, Harb :)
What a beautiful thing to say, Tule. hug smile
