Farm heading into winter.

And another summer bites the dust. What was it?? 6 weeks long. Some stuff didnt get done and some did. Too late now to worry about it. Neighbor came with his mower vacuum and got the pine needles off my lower driveway. I had the upper raked.
And then wind and those hated two oak trees decided to do what the Catalpa did and give me a carpet of leaves. ARGH! I mentioned it to him and he said he noticed. Uh...AND?
I got the end of my dogtrot to the barn fixed. Got the 20x30 hunk of old billboard tarp out of the barn and boarder and I wrestled it up on this end. Then took plastic piece on barn end. Done. NOT. Hello wind so we had to put barn plastic up again. Not I have a baling string over to hold it.
The joys of farms. Peat and Repeat. Tied the mule up in the spot I use, dumped corn on floor and sawed off his curled hoof. Nice part of him being 33. He puts up with it now. Mostly. Only 3 more to go. I said to him you HAD to inherit your fathers hooves..the jackass. No..he was a male donkey. I left a message for the farrier last summer. He never answered. Story of my life..once with the mule and they avoid me like the plague. So I do the best I can. An old woman killing herself on an old mule.
Started the forced air outside wood furnace finally and gave up on fireplace. Now it will run til April. I fill at 11 or midnight. Boarder does at 5 am. I do at 11 am. And 4 pm. And maybe at 8pm. I feel like that old ad..I MADE the donuts!
The last 4 kittens are taming some so maybe can find them homes. The one I am keeping..Pippersqueek is getting smart. Came up from barn and she was in loggia. I said what are you doing on this side of the house. Cats live by wood furnace in winter. I squatted down to do something and she climbed to my shoulder. Sat there all the way into the house. Jumped down and went back to eat the food she had not finished earlier.
I went to put cat chow out..BLASTED %^**(%^#$&& possum! Back in for revolver and gone! I heard meowing. Opened kitchen door, Pipper walked right out, over to step door..I opened and off she went. My aren't you getting big and smart little one.
So carried live trap over by woodshed area and set. I will put an apple in tonight. Cats dont eat. Told boarder check and leave kitten out. Big cats know to stay out. lol.
Went to start truck to put in its carport and of course, rrrr, rrrrr, r r r. Shoot! So put trickle charger on tomorrow. Got plastic up on back of woodshed to block wind. Found out I had used the piece I wanted. So cut new. Got nailed to 1by. Came in for drill...why is it wet and dirty on edge?
DANG NANG tom cats!! Geeze you cant wait!? Put in screws. Found out I did it backwards. Take OUT screws. It is up and pulled up til they bring last wood up.
Not much to do anymore. So back onto the 8 craft projects I have going at the same time. And filling wood..filling wood...fillin......
