Collateral Damage: be careful what you wish for...

The level of hate for one CS member had been building for a while and reached saturation by the end of summer. My thought is "If you don't like someone here, avoid their blogs" but that didn't happen. What did happen was a handful of haters followed him around and picked at his blogs like vultures, forcing him to delete their comments and locking his blogs while he was away.
Several members had wished he was gone and it appears their wishes were granted.
A few days ago in the middle of the night, the axe swung and he was gone... and so were a few other members including one who appeared most vocal in complaints about him.
I call that Collateral Damage or injury inflicted on something other than an intended target.

It doesn't matter who you know or how popular you are here. We are all guests and have some basic rules to follow.

Fairly obvious that some members refuse to follow rules in all aspects of life, best to steer well away from that kind of person.

She has vanished rather suddenly. I believe BoBo is returning or so he claimed. Jim may of been suspended just as an effort to satisfy the endless complaints and screaming of the baboon house in the zoo.

Maybe someone can explain if there is a visual difference between a member who closed their profile (and can reopen at any time) to someone who was booted out to someone who is temporarily in jail.

I'm guessing with jail you are blocked from forum posting, blogs, messaging or any communication whatsoever. Your profile appears active with photo(s) intact until the ban is lifted.

ana, hate is a strong word.
I suggest you replace that with popular.
While his pro-vaccine and anti-Trump blogs drew lots of comments, he blogged on a variety of subjects. Music, sports, science, wildlife to name a few.

I remember the mods posting a huge post about not wanting Covid nor political talk..They said the same on the forums..As far as a couple of the others mentioned they were big mouthed trolls

Nastics could be just that... at times, but I did not feel comfy seeing him gone.
Best bet he'll be back with the same old photo hehe.
Crypt was asking for it, Bo was on the border or over it quite so often,
but that hat from down under would have gone though the eye of my needle atleast
eh... did that come across as weird?

I would not ban ANYBODY ever, but a slap on the wrist more often perhaps (timeout).

Jim copped a lot..I remember having decent discussions on his blogs..Then two certain trolls would follow me trying to get a reaction from me..I didn't react because I didn't want to disrespect his blog..In the end I mailed Jim saying we can discuss the topic at hand in mail that way my haters will leave you be.

Correction: hiding your profile makes everything, including your pic go grey. You have to put the faceless pic as primary to go faceless when you're hidden.

Jim may have fell ILL and wanted to remove his profile pic. I sure don't want to be caught with my pants down.. So many un active people that have pics on their profile that don't comment on blogs anymore. Anyone from 2020 on may not be around. I came looking for nothing and I can leave with nothing.

Hello Chat,

I think you might be right about a group taking their power and using it for a selfish agenda. It kind of reminds me of a high school setting. Ultimately CS is in control...and while we decide to use and operate on their platform....so be it.

I may not have always agreed with Jim but I always respected him for not behaving like a first grader calling names, he never stooped that low.

I missed all the blogs that caused the chaos I guess.
