Insomnia

I haven’t slept. It’s like a group of psychiatric patients escaped and decided to hide out in my head with tequila and a couple of piñatas - the festivities have been going for a day or two. I’ve tried drinking hot chocolate, burning oils, incense and meditating to no avail. I guess nothing can help you when your unhinged friends drop by for a party.

Sex would be the best remedy, but there’s nobody to have it with. The last person to let me lay on top of her naked with this body has been gone a while. She was a lovely woman though - generous, kind, patient, caring, all the qualities you’d look for in a partner. Allie was just a bit too much of a hippie though. She’s probably now married to a guy named Aura who runs a retreat in Bali called Cosmic Caresses where for a fee someone will hold you in their arms and whisper in your ear how important to the universe you are. I hope she’s happy.

I’d be happy if I could sleep.

Being sleep deprived is dangerous, and I’m not really the the dangerous type. My heart rate rises enough at the thought of drinking an under-chilled chablis - god forbid I have to deal with a faulty oven timer while baking a sponge cake - that’s living on the edge enough for me.

Oh to sleep. Maybe if I get drunk - no, that’ll just make me want to put on a Bee Gees record. I bet Barry Gibb was sleep deprived when he wrote Night Fever, and Staying Alive - that could have been a Tragedy…

Actually, writing this nonsense has proved to be quite an effective sedative - it will probably put everyone else to sleep as well.

I was suffering from insomnia since I's 11 and until a few year ago. Nothing helped, but then I discovered Qigong and it works for me. Hope, you too will find a remedy.
I'm sorry that you're going through that, my friend. I have been there but not to your degree. I know the "Ghetto Of the Mind" where LOTS of Mental Ramblings comes out of:)

You MIGHT want to look into:

Chamomile Tea

Tension Tamer Tea

Homeopathics

"True Calm" or its equivalent - a mixture of herbs that promote calming the mind. My daughter has insomnia and she uses this with excellent results. Most Health food stores carry True Calm or one that is very close to the same ingredients.

There are also several Channels on YouTube:

Pressure Points for sleep - Qi Gong is what one I know of...

Solfeggio's which are specific musical tones associated with healing - there are Channels dedicated to sleep and calming

I KNOW that all this sounds so "Hippie". BUT, these are better than all the chemicals out there, prescription and otherwise. I have tried an OTC sleep aid from the Grocery Store but, after a few days, I did not like the side effects. Good Luck!
Thanks for the tips. As I've recently replaced drinking coffee for tea, perhaps the tea options suggested might be worth a try.
Breath observing meditation teqneek is useful in Insomnia.
This meditation technique benefits me a lot.
Listen to this radio station: Relaxation Island.
I cant give you the link cos i only have the app.
when you hit the fourth day you may be ready for some sleep. I have had a few like that. It tends to start by trying to fall asleep when watching tv and rolling on my side and turned away from the movie. My eyes are stretched in behind my ears and that's what happens..
