What Really Matters @The End of Time?

I remember there was a time when I met this man years before my dad died.

I used to call him “A money making factory”

. He spent his life in earning more and more. His family have very little memories with him. He was always busy and never there for them.

His sons got settled in their own lives somewhere far from where his home and daughters also got married.

When his wife died, my father went to him to pay condolences.

He said to my father, “Now I think, what I've earned. I worked day and night to make this money and what it gave me? At the end of my life, I'm here all alone, waiting for someone to come and talk to me for a while. I want someone to take whatever I've and give me their time. I need someone to be be here for me.”

I just learnt one thing from him. It's not money that matters. It's nothing material that matters. It's love, it's memories, it's relations, it's people who matter at the end of our lives.

It doesn't mean that money isn't important. Money has its own importance but time that you spend with your family is a little more important. The relationship you build with your family is even more important.wine handshake

“Relations are like vitamins. You can spend your youth without them but you would definitely need them in your old age.”teddybear
My experience is that most of those who make quite a bit of money, actually enjoy the process….using skills or knowledge that has often taken a lifetime to acquire. Making money becomes easy for them. Interestingly, the people I know that have made the most, continued to live modest lives and were content to leave the money to others. While money is not the answer, neither is no money. Sounds to me like this man is mourning the loss of his wife which is to be expected. Losing a spouse is a major life transition. Reassessing one’s life is also very common at this stagedunno wave
What matters to me at the end of my time is that I gave someone peace of mind in their life.

What more could anyone ask for than to live my life in a way that it brings a smile to someone when they think of me and say........yeah, she was a good egg.

I do agree
It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
