Interesting shopping expedition today

Shopping streets in my small suburban centre largely, well notably, empty. I bought a small box of baked custard tarts and she asked me if I would like some buns, so I asked her if she had any sourdough. A bagful and she said they will just throw them out so all for free - Vietnamese wearing a mask. It was late afternoon near closing.

On my way home I recalled I was out of sliced cheese, so diverted to the small supermarket. and noticed the avocados on sale - but an elderly woman, hatted masked and trolleyed, cut in before me. I stood and watched as she picked up and squeezed one by one the mangoes, each and every one. The melons likewise. So I turned and went down the aisle to the cheese section - empty shelves. Back up to the gourmet cheeses and selected a brie. Back to the discount vegetables, and there she was fondling some other vegetable. So to checkout, and as I approached the exit, there she was inspecting each and every cherry in turn, so I stood and watched her until she noticed me, whereupon I said in a clear voice 'you have handled every piece of fruit and vegetable' and continued on my way out. I did manage to get a plastic-wrapped tray of avocados however. Talk about OCD!
