Rice Pudding...

With a few cold fronts into Florida this winter, I've been thinking about cooking 'stuff' as it reminds me of a time when my parents were alive and the kitchen was always warm from a gas stove. My dad liked to grill and stove top. my mother was the boiler and baker of the family.
For some (possibly) unknown reason, I thought of rice pudding. Maybe it was the flan custard from a party not long ago. We buy rice in 25 pound bags so there's never a shortage of rice... thinking that I could get a recipe wrong and have to drop the entire disaster into the dumpster!
I made pancakes on Sunday morning... the kind where you only need to add water. Well, I added 2 eggs and used low fat milk in place of the water. Of course it tasted better that way.
Out of milk from Sunday, I went shopping tonight and grabbed the low fat milk again... maybe next time it will be whole milk so I can make some rice pudding.

If I should add raisins or not is open for debate.

If you ever want to give your rice and milk another (super delicious) use, here is a very easy recipe, for you... bouquet

Thanks Melody, that was an interesting video/recipe.
I'm thinking strawberries could be added at the top!
Chat, "Chicha" is sooooo good, that it doesn't need anything, to be honest... Absolutely nothing on top... Not condensed milk, not cinnamon, not strawberries... But, I am also open to try anything and I love strawberries, so, I would definitely try it that way!... But, really... That thing is sooooo delicious, the only thing it needs is you, to enjoy it... laugh bouquet

Melody, I work with some people from Brazil. Is the Chicha strictly Venezuelan or does the recipe cross borders?
Chat, there are other countries that have "Chicha" in their recipes, like Colombia, Ecuador... And then, there are other latin countries that make "Chicha" but it consists of fermented corn, also adding some liquor (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Perú and also in Venezuela, but we call that variety: "Chicha Andina")... I know they make rice pudding in Brazil... But, I am not sure about "Chicha"... Probably they have a similar kind of beverage but with a different name... bouquet
