Ride Like the Wind...
Musician, singer, songwriter Christopher Cross released the song Ride Like the Wind in 1980 and it was a hit reaching #2 on the Billboard charts. The basis of the song was about a convicted outlaw on the run from a death-by-hanging sentence. He has to 'ride like the wind' to reach the Mexican border and avoid capture by the sheriff's posse.
Great song, great lyrics. Here is the album version:
Michael McDonald does the background vocals.

Rick is a recording engineer/record producer/musician and often has access to the actual recording tracks and raises the volume of the guitar solo so you can clearly hear it in the manner he believes (and I agree) it should have been produced at.
I've read (a few times) that although Christopher was a talented musician, he didn't have the slender handsome looks to be the front man driving his career.
