Send Trump to Moscow to make a peace deal with Putin

Somebody has to go to Moscow and talk to Putin, to at least get a ceasefire in place and allow humanitarian supplies to come in. There are only two people who have ever impressed Putin on the world stage enough to pull this off: Xi Jinping and Donald Trump.

Mr. Xi leads Russia's only important ally. And Mr. Trump, whatever some Americans think of him, dominates world opinion in a way nobody has since Ronald Reagan. Uniquely, he is seen now as likely to return to the presidency.

Mr. Xi won't lift a finger to help. Why would he? Mr. Trump, though, would be happy to lead a delegation to give this a try.

Right now, Old Joe is hiding away in Delaware, and Team Biden, Blinken, Klain, Wendy Sherman is still trying to do a sell-out deal with Iran. That's why Saudi Arabia won't increase oil production. Waiting for these folks to get the message and do something smart may be a long time in coming.

But perhaps with all the newfound courage among our NATO leaders, one or two of them can ask Trump to go visit Putin on their behalf. Making a deal with Trump instead of Biden could be just the kind face-saving gesture that would entice Putin to stop the shooting.

As long a shot as this may be, I figure the odds are better than what I suspect Team Biden may actually be planning: sending Kamala Harris over to beguile Putin with her feminine charms.

yeah,right,"Glaube macht selig"!laugh
I think Putin would roll back yea if guarantees would be given.
I still think he don't intend on sitting on Ukr forever.
You think he wants USSR back?
Sending Trump to Moscow would be like sending Churchill to Berlin . This is a nuclear war because the threat of nuclear strikes have been made if any country helps Ukraine . The only time Trump should go to Moscow is when it is ash .
There'll be no nuclear war.
The threat has been made . Better to stand up against that threat now than embolden Putin .
How do you stand up to that?
And how did Russia stand up to American threats of nuclear use in 1962?
Did they stand up strongly?
On October 22 at 7:00 pm EDT, Kennedy delivered a nationwide televised address on all of the major networks announcing the discovery of the missiles. He noted:

It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union
The Russians should be given the choice , leave by Monday or be attacked on the ground in Ukraine by nato forces . Make any move to open a nuclear attack and face the same including Russian allies . Gas was never used in the second world war (mostly) but it was always hanging over countries .
US National Security Council Russia specialist Fiona Hill is the best source for insight into the Putin/Trump interactions. She explains how Trump played into Putin's hands, even ignoring Putin's veiled threat of nuclear weapon use.

In her official capacity, she was in the room as these conversations took place. I put her words in quotes:

"Putin tried to warn Trump about this, but I don’t think Trump figured out what he was saying. In one of the last meetings between Putin and Trump when I was there, Putin was making the point that: “Well you know, Donald, we have these hypersonic missiles.” And Trump was saying, “Well, we will get them too.” Putin was saying, “Well, yes, you will get them eventually, but we’ve got them first.” There was a menace in this exchange. Putin was putting us on notice that if push came to shove in some confrontational environment that the nuclear option would be on the table."

Now read on about how easily Putin manipulated Trump:

"But this is also a full-spectrum information war, and what happens in a Russian “all-of-society” war, you soften up the enemy. You get the Tucker Carlsons and Donald Trumps doing your job for you. The fact that Putin managed to persuade Trump that Ukraine belongs to Russia, and that Trump would be willing to give up Ukraine without any kind of fight, that’s a major success for Putin’s information war. I mean he has got swathes of the Republican Party — and not just them, some on the left, as well as on the right — masses of the U.S. public saying, “Good on you, Vladimir Putin,” or blaming NATO, or blaming the U.S. for this outcome. This is exactly what a Russian information war and psychological operation is geared towards. He’s been carefully seeding this terrain as well. We’ve been at war, for a very long time. I’ve been saying this for years."

Trump has no standing to talk to any world leader, and as we see from Dr. Hill's professional experience and first-hand expert opinion, as President he failed utterly in his dealings with Putin.
rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing How quaint, putting Biden's Corruption and Failures on Trump!
Are there any Lows you Guys wouldn't descend to?barf
Sure.
Some of what I say is "in a transferred meaning"
Nuckes can be rolled in, western nukes. Not talking about the ones given up before.
I'm talking about western military positions in ukr. and how Putin feel about it, leading to what we see now.

Anyways, thanks for the exchange.

Nuclear you can rule out (don't scare folks).
Will you nuke Moscow over ukraina?
Would you consider it if Russian tanks rollled into Rome or Madrid? Yes. So we agree then.
As I said before gas hung over countries during WWll . Germans refrained from using their Typhoon explosives because they thought Russian would respond with gas . Putin should be given a few days to leave then face NATO conventional attack . If he goes for his nukes Russia and their allies should be destroyed . His threat should be faced down .
@ op ... Trump does not work for biden.
When 2 dogs fight over a bone the 3rd enjoys it.
Easy to see that the 'underdog' (ukraine) has been set up by the west, to antagonize Russia to the limit. Now all that is needed is a massive weapon donation and voila, the 2 sides will just about wipe each other out. Who will be the Victor - definitely not Russia (smothered in sanctions even if battle is won) nor Ukraine.
This strategy has been practiced in many occupied countries in the past although this time the tactic differs slightly but will still hopefully produce the desired effect.
The above mentioned strategy presently being deployed goes with extreme risk especially with a country that is over stocked in nuclear missiles and feels its back is against the wall with nothing to lose.
Very risky indeed.
Send Arnold Schwarzenegger in his terminator mood.
add Doctor Hill to that lot!
