IS FREE SPEECH WORTH PRESERVING?
In some countries such as Russia, China, North Korea, people go about their daily lives accepting the system that is imposed on them and appear to be quite happy. Disagreement with any rules imposed on them is never an option, because the state would immediately clamp down on any opposition and punishment would be severe. But in that system the governing body would be able to carry out its policies much easier than in a democracy and so life can go on in a smooth undisturbed manner.Does this system appeal to you?
:confused

Address to the Officers of the Army | Saturday, March 15, 1783
Editorial Notes
Known today as the Newburg Address, Washington gave an emotional speech to his officers on March 15, 1783. Responding to an anonymous petition which encouraged officers to protest if Congress did not provide the promised pay and pensions, Washington told his troops that the petition had some valid points, that he supported his officers, but the author’s proposed solution of mutiny was not the answer. Washington supported the freedom to express their opinions, and used this very petition to remind his troops what they were fighting for – their freedom.
From George Washington to Officers of the Army, 15 March 1783
lindsy did today, tried to talk about some political event 16 months back
over in the united states of america, that today affects all of is.
We might even be nuked soon cos of completely incompetent leaders
but no... can't talk about it.
Was taken down, cos it's not allowed even here to question
that event and the legality of it.
Who made that rule is still unclear to me.
Maybe it was fb/twitter ?
So there you go. Tested to the limit.
Everyone creates their own "books" in their brain once they learn something. I am sure you do too, don't you? Otherwise you would have said things to your parents, friends, and partner carelessly and inconsiderately every time, simple because you think you can. And that's just a simple example.
Keep up the good work!
Maybe like undemocratic countries it appears to run smooth but how many in jails??? for speaking their minds
Gen speaking looks like China is doing great, North Korea data unavailable
and Russia same as the united states.
