I wonder how long I will be unemployed this time.

It's been a while since my last blog, so it's time for an update!

Last time, I left off with me going to a job interview. It went well, but they decided to go with someone else. However, he kept my information for possible later use. Meanwhile, I went to a job fair in Copenhagen Airport, and I got a number of jobs to apply for,and it's everything from fast food worker to gate personnel. I will spend the rest of the day applying for those jobs. I hope I will get a job soon, so I can save up money for a trip and a place to live.

On the home front, two new people have moved in. Well, one is moved in, while the other will arrive next week. It's always exciting with new people. The guy already moved in seems like a decent enough guy, so I don't think we'll have any problems with him. I have yet to meet the other guy, but apparently he's also very relaxed, so hopefully he's not going to be trouble.

In other news: My PS4 suggested a new app to me: NBA TV.. Curiosity got the best of me, so I downloaded the app. Once I opened it, I was greeted with a "subscribe to watch live games and classic games on demand". Only $6.99 per month, which I could afford, so I signed up. I have watched a few games, but I still don't really know what's going on. I have had to Google most of the fouls and most of the terminology, but I know if I just keep at it, I will be pretty well versed in NBA at some point. Luckily the games aren't that long, which helps a lot..

Philipsen ~ It's always that way. When you have a job it is easier to get another one. roll eyes
I remember walking in to a very large Government office one time many years ago as I was sick of sending CVs and getting no results. I was amazed that having got on well with the receptionist, she phoned the Personnel officer.
I had an impromptu interview and was honest about being fed up of sending private information and getting no reply. She told me what I already knew. It is illegal to hire somebody without advertising and many jobs are gone before they are advertised.

so I spent a long time there and it was well paid with a lovely Canteen where the food was excellent and it saved a lot of money having Dinner in the middle of the day. Just something light in the evening.

Being a Govt. Dept. we got perks too and I wore a nice uniform and that saved on clothes each day.

Anyway don't give up hope. I am not familiar with your country and job hunting. Would you think about just walking in ? if nothing else you can get a good walk in and a coffee and some fresh air.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I am retired now and do miss work. I do some animal rescue work and socialising animals that have been abandoned and badly treated but there is no money in it and it can be emotionally very challenging. It is a pity that they make us retire at a certain age, not like America.

Dont give up

Didn't you say you were good at driving a forklift and liked it? So perhaps try for a job in a warehouse. Good luck anyway.
The second you mentioned playstation, I can tell it will be a revolving door. It is depressing, the number of otherwise productive people aged around 30, who move back in their parents home to focus on playstation.

They don't consider themselves unemployed, they're "gamers"...
At least you have options and are not involved in war.. My little girl is job hunting right now and graduates in a few months. She is covered for grant funding in college. I think four years in the Arm forces is a better return. My Son had a GI bill and learned a few trades. I think we are headed in the wrong direction. If you look hard enough I bet you could find employment in the rebuilding of Ukraine. Soon they will skilled apprentices in all trades. Buy a tape measure and speed square and a circular saw. You could make 35 an hour..
Why do you want to be well-versed in NBA? It sounds like an education you neither want nor need.

Why don't you learn a trade and only work mornings by cutting out unnecessary subscriptions? You know that Keynes was right about the 15 hour working week so long as you do the right job and don't buy too many worthless things.
