Flash Bang...
In an attempt to deter vehicle (or contents) theft, a guy rigs his truck with an explosive set to go off when someone gains entry and tampers with the interior.Described as a loud, non-lethal triggered deterrent set up in the center console of the truck.
He installed surveillance video to capture the event.
Intended to scare off a would-be thief, it's one of those 'Don't try this at home' events, because the owner of the vehicle would be liable should the thief actually be harmed.
Yeah... that reminds me of the shop owner who was tired of thieves getting into his store via the roof mounted air vent. He wired the interior grill so that someone trying to remove it (and gain access into the building) would get an electrical shock and back off. Unfortunately (for him) it sent 120 volts through someone completing the circuit and the guy fried like a hotdog in a toaster oven!
He was sued by the dead man's family.

Corrupt police simply moved it around a bit, and that was the end of that.
