Whole Milk...

So I'm told, only in America do adults drink milk. That doesn't happen in other countries/cultures. Okay, I could believe that statement.
I like milk and limit it's intake. Fat free milk is too bland so I drink 2% milk.
There is a sophisticated coffee system in my office that pumps refrigerated milk into a heater for different coffee styles. It uses whole milk... if not, you cannot get the frothy top on cappuccino or whatever exotic selection you choose.
They ran out of milk so I bought some during lunch.
I didn't want hot coffee. Instead of sending my selection to the heater, I poured cold milk to black coffee. Yeah, I like it better.

I have milk in my tea or a hot Milo or cold milo drink that I haven't had for zonks

If I drink milk alone I get bad pains in my tummy
I stopped eating dairy years ago and have felt a lot better for it. Milk substitutes have greatly improved over the years. Where once only soy milk was available, now there's also almond milk and oat milk. They come unflavored or flavored with vanilla. It's also available in chocolate. I don't drink milk but use plain oat milk in my coffee which gives it a light creamy texture. It also froths well for cappuccinos.
Bass... I did a few rounds of milk substitutes.
While milk doesn't bother my stomach, I tried products that have no animal fat.

Soy milk actually bothers my stomach.
Almond is so-so
Oat Milk about the same

I've tried some with and without sugar.
Chat, I agree that the milk substitutes can't compare with real milk. Soy is awful. I only use oat milk in coffee. As a child, I didn't like milk or ice cream but we had to drink it. Oat milk is an acquired taste made much easier with the addition if coffee! laugh
I used to love milk growing up probably still do but I haven't had any cow milk for years. I did Almond for awhile but now I'm in love with a Coconut Almond Blend. I can't even remember why I gave up cow's milk but it had something to do with whatever I was researching. I keep heavy cream around for cooking and the little dog.
Obviously too much is not good but we grew up on a small farm with Jersey cows. We drank whole milk and had cream for desert most days. We were a large family in numbers but not in weight, we are all thin if anything. So I would say that weight problems are more down to processed food than milk, we only ate home prepared food and still do. I haven't heard of any cholesterol issues either.
I grew up raising goats and other animals as my father was a farmer. I was used to drinking goat milk everyday. I don't drink anymore because that taste remained in my buds and only the whole milk taste as the closest to it. Then we're told about the bad things it does to your health. I tried Almond and I don't like it. There's an article that puts: hemp, oats, almond, coconut milk in order as the best for our health.
The almond-coconut blend sounds yummy. I will look for it! thanks!
We had 3 big coconut trees when my family moved to Florida. I recall eating lots of chunks of shaved coconut. I'm no longer interested to eat coconut or drink coconut juice. Probably the last time I tasted some was 10 years ago in a Hershey's chocolate coconut bar.
Have you tried Lactose-free milk?
I drink milk but only lactose free and so does all my family.
It's not good to drink milk for grown ups.
Contrary to earlier science it's now proved that it will make your bones brittle. Especially older women should take care and stop consuming dairy products. The excess milk proteins/calcium block your body from producing it's own calcium and weakens bones. Same thing can happen with vitamins etc. Best is to eat a normal diet.
According to the Mayo Clinic milk is recommended for calcium along with vitamin D.
I don't know if it's a reliable source.
Yeah I can't drink full cream milk at all whether it be in tea or whatever
Old school. As an adult you get enough calcium from vegetables and other products. Vitamin D you get from the sun. If you are in prison or work in a mine you might need supplements. Or if you are dark skinned and live far from the Equator. If you are white and live in the tropics you should not eat it.
For a good concentrated way to effectively increase your calcium intake. Save your eggshells, wash them after cracking, with a gentle dish soap(food grade safe)rinse the shells and let dry. Once dry, crunch up and put into a coffee grinder and bring to a consistency of refined salt. Pour into a salt shaker along with some rice, put the extra into a storage container and with some rice as well, to absorb dampness. Sprinkle on your foods before you eat. This way there is no need to subsidize your calcium intake from big pharma's shelf. There is also a higher gain with this method.

thumbs up
Do not do this unless you wanna die in a soup of liquid feaces (salmonella).

If you really wanna eat eggshells to supplement your calcium intake, then be sure to boil your eggs or eggshells for a good 15 mins before consuming them.
I use whole milk in my cooking. However, my body doesn't agree with lactose, so I'm using the lacto free version. I made pancakes this morning with the lacto free whole milk
I can't edit my post. Where it says wash them after cracking it is supposed to say wash them after cooking.

Word perfect got in the way, sorry for typo.
