Why books?

First off..I AM a voracious reader. All over the place..sci fi, westerns, history, fact and fiction. Catches my eye, I read.
And yet wonder why do we read books. They are ramblings of anothers mind and imagination. Humans write on all kinds of subjects. Some are instructional and that makes sense. Others are out of another persons mind.
Do they really matter to our lives. And yes, I write too. Not that anyone will ever publish or even bother to read it. I guess we have a need to live in a world that doesnt exist.dunno

I used to read so many books specially romance when I was in high school. Emily Loring ones, then in College, mostly stories published in the Time Magazines and National Georaphics. I think that NG was so valuable that I saved hundreds and hundreds of volumes, until I got divorced and left them all possessions behind.

They're very good source of entertainment and knowledge. We live our lives vicariously through them that's for sure.

Anyways my all time favorite is Atlas Shrugged by Rand andany Lives Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss.

Now I simply Google and or go to the web for information.

Good blog my dear. wave
I learned how to read an audio book but read the instructions on how to. My loved one was an avid reader now with Wifi after death you deliver unlimited resources to you loved ones casket with 24hr steaming to his or her casket with reading after death.

Reading will help with being bored and some general knowledge. I can listen and learn some but hands on experience will work also..

My next audio book How to milk a duck
I will admit I have bought books and I had to. If you work on your Vehicle and need specs on a complete tear down and assemble then a Chilton Haynes manual is a must. Have torque wrench will travelroll eyes
We always had lots of books in our house when I was a kid. One day I guess I was bored and thought I would look through some of them just to see what they contained. I wondered if it was possible to read a whole book from end to end. One of them caught my interest because the cover had a picture of a rocket ship. It was "Through Space to Mars" by Roy Rockwood. I started reading it and was hooked. I just searched for the book but couldn't find it. I must have loaned it to one of my kids and never got it back.
