Preferential treatment?.........Hmmmn.
About a month ago, after observing that some men’s profiles were either devoid of a personal pic or featured a pic of an animal (and in one case, a drawing of a cat with a rose), I decided that it would be all right for me to do the same. So, I posted a pic of Sweetie Pie as my primary photo.Almost immediately, the pic was removed, and I was informed that I could not use it as my primary photo. I was very disappointed and thought of querying that policy, because other CS members were being allowed to do otherwise.
Why was I being denied the same opportunity? Was it because I was (and still am) relatively new on here, and there’s some sort of ‘probationary’ period to complete before I could do so? Was it because they have a policy that ‘men’s faces don’t really need to be seen, but women’s do’? Was it because the ‘mods’ only do random checks and just happened to be checking when I put up Sweetie’s photo? Was it because…………….?
I couldn’t think of anything else that was plausible.
Then, earlier today Avocet’s profile pic (featuring 2 dogs, I think) made Galrads ask how he was able to ‘get away’ with that, and I wondered about the mystery behind it all.
Is this a case of preferential treatment, or a faux pas that was missed by the CS ‘powers that be’?

I've noticed irregular 'permission' on some primary profile photos and not know how or why they were allowed. Once, I uploaded a small image if Shrek that was quickly deleted. The same with Jabba the Hut. I thought the resemblance was the same... not exact, but similar.
Wow...and you've been on here for years, not so? Hmmmn...the mystery goes deeper...

Are you saying it doesn't work?
I have a few writing to me on a regular basis, they all have photos.
The others come and go and I noticed recently very few men have photos [as you rightly said ]
I also have been receiving profiles with cute pics of fluffy dogs and Spaniels. I put up my pet Cat once and I was told I had to take it down.
So ~ Could there be a law for men and a law from women ?
Thanks for bringing that up.
I always think that a faceless man writing to a woman who has put up her photo is not being fair.
It is not an equal playing field.
When you see a lovely young pup or loveable fluffly dog it is a con, and not an honest way of contributing
one said to me the other day he would like to take me to bed.
I just blocked, Still he is probably still telling half the site he wants to do same with them.
Which begs another question Didi7. If I did ask a man to bed, and he reported me , would I bel kicked off
the site. Men definitely are not.

A dog in a fridge.
A group of kittens.
A monkey.
One wearing a full face motorcycle helmet.
Some too far away.
Some with their back to the camera.
A couple with the hat pulled over the face.
Plenty scenery and flowers.
A couple photos of the cs blank.
Etc.
It may have been because you're visible on the blogs.
