Pursuing one of my childhood dreams....
Lying in my bed (with Sweetie napping by my side, as usual) I caught a memory whilst reading online, of one of my childhood dreams. This dream, in particular, was as a result of a popular show from the 70's-80's called "BJ and the bear". I remember it being fun, action-backed, and age-appropriate (of course), and my inspiration (which was probably fuelled by the 'tomboy' in me) was to drive an 18-wheeler like the one driven by the star of the movie!During different periods in my life, and usually whenever I see these trucks, I'm awed by their presence - powerful, majestic, over-shadowing, amazing pieces of engineering. Yes, I still want to drive one!
Now that I'm retired, with the time to do something like that, I'm going to investigate how I could make this childhood dream come true.
Day one - Enquire about driver-training and testing/licensing
Stay tuned for updates...

How did it go, did you get to steer the 118wheeler today?
Unfortunately, in my haste and excitement earlier today, I changed handbags (as we women tend to do), and forgot the envelope containing the required docs for my appointment, at home! I got there early, so imagine my joy, then horror, when I looked for the envelope and realized what had happened.
I didn't give up though; I proceed to the Regulations section, and, when I got to the counter, related the situation to the attendant. There, I not only found out that I could not proceed without a Utility bill, but also that I really did HAVE to provide a Medical Certificate (even though the information that I read previously only indicated it as a requirement for 65+ yr olds.
Now, someone I know may say (again), that the "Gods might be trying to tell me something", but I prefer to think that it's the bad "juju" that he has been sending my way (with his negative made-up scenarios).
Until then, it's a waiting game
Just kidding. Weellll 7th of July it is then!
This time I have a feeling you'll get all in order, and will be on your way
(wow pooositive... whohoo, you didn't see that one coming haha).
Now to the medical, do you think you will pass? Hope you are aware it's required an oversize belly and hamburger jaw. BMI 25%+ is part of the requirements. Maybe you'll have to start the training on your local burger joint already tonight .

Keeping my fingers, AND toes crossed!
Did your aging process stop at age 35?

p.s. The trick to looking younger is to have a happy smile.
Based upon my list of requirements, I am almost ready for my afternoon appointment.
Items -
1. Driver's permit...check!
Why is it up-sided down?
2. Completed application form...check!
3. Proof of address (utility bill)...check!
Up-sided down again....
4. Passport pics...pending
5. Medical cert....pending
My plan is to get 4 & 5 either before I go to my destination, or on-site at my destination. Either way, I have to leave home at least 1 hour in advance of my appointment time, to ensure I'm not late.
WISH ME LUCK!!!
However, I'm hoping that in the very near future, there will be enough automatic transmission Class 4 vehicles available for me to avoid having to be trained with a manual vehicle. Then may try again.
