I wonder if the diary of Anne Frank would ever be read in North Korea or Burma or Russia or China.
I asked the question because in those countries the freedom of expression is restricted. To lock yourself away in fear is the ultimate restriction and demonstrates how bad things can get.
I haven't read the books you mention.
I agree that people are fundamentally the same. It's the regime that controls them that is the problem.
