Woe is me!

My birthday is fast approaching, and all I wish for is to spend a few days (with Sweetie in tow) at a beach house/hotel/BnB, but so VERY FEW of the venues are 'pet-friendly'. And those that are, are either booked up or nowhere near a beach.

I thought of offering to pay extra, but didn't even get a chance to; perhaps I should have done that when I enquired about costs. hmmm Good grief! Why is accommodating a pet such a problem, especially at a Beach house/hotel/BnB? Is it because of the sand, the salt water? If so, wouldn't the same concerns apply to human beings. And pet poop isn't that much of a fuss to clean, especially when one has potty-trained, well-behaved pets, so I really don't understand the reluctance. dunno

I'm not 'one of the guys' Jo, and I DON'T want to stay home. I'm at 'home' all day most of the time (as I'm retired), and I've been longing for the change in scenery.
You men may like 'the same ole, same ole', but most ladies like to change things up /around. Variety is the spice of life! banana dancing grin

Perhaps it is because of pet allergies that they do not offer to take pets or because it costs so much. They have to defur the place and at times deflea the place in case of people with allergies or maybe the owners have the allergies. It is a drag having fleas in a place you are paying a high cost for. or stay with allergy symptoms your entire visit. Just a thought.
