Your daily dose of Donald... 10-9-2022

I've been busy lately and apologize for not keeping up with the 5 or 6 new Trump stories that hit the news channels daily. There's so much stuff that it boggles the mind. How a 'one man hurricane' can muster up so much attention.

More documents?
The last few days there has been talk that not all the documents were seized from Mar-a-Lago and there must be more. I read a comment The Guardian took video of Trump directing the loading of at least 9 boxes to a private plane at the West Palm Beach airport. The manifest was to fly to Bedminster New Jersey. It's believed they are maintenance staff at Bedminster Club and they know where the boxes are.
It wouldn't surprise me if the DOJ serve him with more search warrants to search his New York offices, clubs and other residences.

Every day it's a new twist!

Former President Donald Trump addressed the FBI's raid on his Mar-a-Lago resort at a Sunday rally in Arizona, making a series of misleading claims as he sought to portray the investigation as part of a plot against him.
Trump baselessly claimed that other presidents, including Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush, had mishandled classified information yet faced no legal consequences.

If it wasn't a stunt, if the nine-plus boxes contained any sensitiive material, no one will have seen them, or Trump personally involved.

The Trump administration was somewhat characterised by (piles of) paper'work' being used as propaganda props.
Propaganda props?
I'm not sure what you mean.
Moving files from the White House was under the direction of Trump.
There is no record of Trump ever having taken an IQ test (apparently), yet he calls himself a "stable genius" with an IQ of 156, and who's to say he isn't?......

dunno
I just feel that it plays into his hands as a maverick man here to save the country from pencil necks who bled the land dry through a million paper cuts.
Hi jac.....
Forgot to add

IQ tests measure a specific set of skills which may be innate, or learned. Their use, or perceived value has exceeded ther original intention.

Those specific IQ skills bear little relation to Trump's personal skill set. I would suggest that his ablity lies in cognitive empathy, whilst lacking emotonal emapthy. It means he can objectively observe how others emotionally react to stimuli and use that to his advantage.
Hello, lcbr...
Me too. laugh hug
That's an interesting idea, jac. I make no assertions as to Trump's IQ - merely what he has let the world know, himself...
But of course, there is Emotional Intelligence, as well....
(just adding some Bears....)

I created a thread about Trump's psychatric traits, but I think it went kapoof when the site owners had a legal panic clean up around the time of January 6th.

I'll just leave a taster...

Overuse of bears is not recommended..................professor
Blog it again please... thumbs up
That'll take some work, findng the documentary and other sources again.

I'll try, but it'll take a bit of time.
Are you okay with me posting some stuff here, Chat?

I'm not sure it's wise to create a whole blog on the topic. I don't want to start WWIII by criticising Saint Donald in front of those who wouldn't recognise a pathological behaviour trait if it slapped them with a wet Communion wafer.
Okay... If you're comfortable with that. laugh
Okay, I think my missing thread was on the topic of whether 'world leader' candidates should undergo psychological assessment before being voted into office. Some of my thinking was inspired by the interview below from 2018.

It's interesting watching it again given it was recorded before George Floyd et al, the BLM protests against police brutality and killings, the clearing of protesters bordering Lafayette Square, Kyle Rittenhouse, January 6th, etc.

If you watched the video, did you find it interesting, Chat?

I'd like to add a comment about the Goldwater Rule and point out that there are some instances where assessing from afar has it's advantages: some pathological behaviours can be manipulative, but appear non-pathological; that is, in face-to-face situations a client may successfully 'play' the professional. A public figure tends to provide a wealth of recorded material of unselfconscious behaviour which may provide more genuine indicators.

Also, psychiatry, psychology and talking therapies are an extension of usual human behaviour. We all constantly observe human behaviour, react to it and implement many of the talking therapy skills in everyday life. Although professionals in these areas may assess with greater knowledge and have opinions which carry authority, we have all had the opportunity to observe behaviour traits exhibited by Trump.
She was referencing enough examples to demnostrate that his behaviour is pathological, rather than simply odd, or incompetent.

Yes... thumbs up
This is stupid and not a real diagnosis. Of course, only his haters play this game and ignore his great presidency.
wsg, what's your opinion of him holding government documents?
Can you point out where anyone said 'it', whatever you mean by 'it', is a 'real diagnosis'?

What would you consider a 'diagnosis' to be?

How useful do you think diagnoses of psychatric categories are?
Id consider a diagnosis if someone fits the disorder criteria by a doctor in a treatment office. Not based on an interview heavily influenced by peoples political bias.
Political bias was covered by Dr.Lee in the video with her assessment.

I just interpreted the video by pointing out the kind of criteria she was cvertly and subtly referring to.

My input isn't politically biased in a bipartisan way: I think the democratic(ish) systems that we have, especially in the US where so much power is at stake, have innumerable faults. One of them would be that nation/world leader positions inherently attract psychlogically/behaviourally irregular people who err on the side of personality disorder traits.

Trump is just a particularly extreme and obviously concerning one.
That was me above. /\/\/\/\/\
I didn't find Trump concerning. Thought he did a great job, Setting that aside, based on Dr Lee criteria, we could see that about every recent US President. How do you determine lack of empathy with a Commander in Chief, or Narcissism when you are the most powerful person in the world. What about black/white thinking in a two party system? You can't which why I reject her assessment.
Our President actually has limited powers. So we dont need to change. And what overreach of power that existed began with Obama using Executive powers more so than any other President. I just dont see a closer of anything except when distorted by our lame mainstream media.
Nah, you don't get to move the goal posts and have no one notice.
Not moving the goal posts. We have a balance of power through the other branches over government. You just have to know more about our country, clearly and our presidents.
