Electric SUV's...

I had dinner at a sports bar tonight with TV screens wrapping around the building. Several satellite stations were in the lineup and when they went to commercial break, the viewer was pounded mostly with Pizza, battery operated ear washer and electric SUV's.
Lexus has a whole fleet as well as Cadillac.

Back home and I Googled electric SUV's and found a few companies I've never heard of before (like Fisker) and all the major manufacturers offering at least one electric model.

Complain all you want about purchase price, finding a place to charge, exploding batteries, limited range and a few other negatives

Domino's Pizza is advertising electric delivery vehicles that are good for the planet. Who cares? That doesn't fix the taste of crappy pizza... having it delivered in an electric car doesn't make it better!

Like it or not, with all the negative aspects, electric cars are here to stay.

Ponder that while you wait for a space to open at the charging station, and then another couple hours while the juice trickles in.
It gets better and better every year. Charging stations are in parking lots of grocery stores, hardware stores, malls, parking garage at the county hospital.

If you plan a trip correctly, rest stops along the highways have capability of fast charging so you can stop for lunch and power up enough for a four hour drive.

I think the local turnpike rest stop has 8 slots for charging Tesla.
In the long run we gotta go electric.
I'm not a fan but one day we must make a transition. I see that.
What I don't get fully is the weight, and size too. What's it all for?
Can't we focus the tech on downsizing and use light materials.
2 tonns do 0 - 60 in 5 sec... what is the point of that?

I drove my bosses MB 400EQC (402 hp) at work a few hours once, and though it was smooth as silk and a good town car, when flooring it it flies... and that was not safe in my hands... a rocket.
And I knew then I don't want one of those.
Good for you than cos the future is electric.
But it will ofcourse take some time as the human race is unbeliveably slow to make use of
modern nuclear powerplants even if Carl Sagen basically took it for granted
we'd be relying mosty on those and not the cringeworthy coal, oil and gas.

The connection is the type of person who concerns themselves with covid and electric vehicles. Whatever the mainstream believes is wrong. Particularly if you believe in a god because people who believe in god are authoritarian, and to be authoritarian is to trust the teller not the tale. You take it on good authority, or you reject it on bad authority, you do NOT judge case on its merits. You accept it on faith or not as the case may be. Is the authority deemed worthy or unworthy? Worthy superior right, unworthy superior wrong.
I am presently in the market for buying a new car.....it will definitely be a SUV....more than likely Hybrid...

Right now, it is between a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV 4....

The problem I am having is finding one without black interior....Who orders cars for Florida with black interior..doh
The bible reads like the ramblings of a drugged horse if you judge the lines as written. It contradicts itself endlessly to look at it logically. It can only be accepted as the word of god, god can do and say whatever he likes.
Toyota 2023 RAV4 Hybrid XLE Premium, available with Ash SofTex interior.
Problem is, 90 percent of the new cars available here do have black interior...and if you want it with leather, which I do...you have to upgrade to a model that has options I do not wish to have...for instance, moon roof...which I have now...and have maybe used it twice.

Also, some colors are not available in anything but black interior...

For fun on Thursday, I test drove a top of the line Hyundai...Black interior and power cooling seats. It had all the bells and whistles. It parks itself and drives itself...I have to say, it was weird letting it do it’s thing. A short drive on I-75 was okay..one exit to the next exit..but, on a long trip...I don’t think I could trust it enough.

It was way over my price range and not enough miles to the gallon to my liking...
Unless you lease, I've been told from a few owners and technicians, avoid Hyundai and KIA.
