Body cam... what a great invention.

After a review of this body cam, Preston Hemphill gets fired from the Memphis Police Force having violated multiple department policies. Quick read: He was one of the first cops to confront Tyre Nichols and allegedly deployed his Taser during the confrontation.
The investigation is ongoing and I'm sure we will see updates as details are released.

Agree with camera's, body camera's totally Chat.
I remember the big deal when it was suggested to have a few camera's installed in our city.
Today they are everywhere.
It can be shown when you shopped at a certain store, I personally am all for them.......wave
Hi Chat,

As long as they are not doctored to suit someone's agenda which can and has happened.handshake
1. Body cams are becoming standard police equipment.

2. EVERYBODY else out there has a mobile phone cam.

How do you get to be a cop without knowing this? Try Memphis, I guess. Progress usually takes a while to leak down there.
At the shooting murder of Australian woman Justine Damond by policeman Noor 2017 in Minneapolis, neither policeman had the body cam on. You can bet your life police will leave them off if they can.
Agreed. Of the 5 in the Tyre Nichols, I read one of the cops had the sound turned off and I believe another intentionally covered his cam.

It's not a perfect system and I think this may give rise to newer inventions like a built-in recorder to the radio that cannot be turned off. Mini cam embedded in the bullet proof vest. No vest... no cam. Fix that!
At one time caught on camera would have been enough to deter the crime, but that's no longer the case. The response to being spied on constantly has been to get used to it, to behave like nobody was watching anyway and when it comes to the bystander the response then is to film the crime. Don't help, just film it. I guess what stands out to me is when Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd why didn't the crowd run in and hang Derek Chauvin from the lamppost? They should have ripped his head off but people just did nothing
The best lack all conviction and the worst are full of passionate intensity.

This is what I see from being spied on constantly. The brazen and shameless are moreso than ever before, and the rest are like a cog in the media machine. What can one do against such reckless hate? Absolutely nothing at all. The brazen and the non-entity with not a lot inbetween.
Forget about the body cams.
It is a collective fault all this is happening...
Everywhere you turn you see people talking nonsense, white supremacy guilt, reparations for something your grand-grand-granddad did.
People are so busy making you angry at other people.
Most of them don't even know why you need to feel guilty or angry.
It is like discussing what soldiers should have done during the W wars.
Some little people, sitting in their comfort, judging those who gave their lives so these little people can have a future.
World is sick, mentally sick...
Privileged and sick.
Weak people heading for a brutal wake up call...
Filming the anger but never doing anything to stop it.
These are the people who judge soldiers but will never risk their precious lives.

Huh??
I thought body-cams for our police were brought in to (protect) police from criminals saying this or that to get out of jail free.

Why did these police actually KILL that young an knowing they could be seen doing the deed? Police rule kinda thing. blues sad world and some in it if they now think they can just kill and get away with it.
People still lie even with body cam.

Liars (lawyers) will try to convince you that what you see is not so.
The cliche is WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE THE CAMERA WAS TURN ON.
Many armchair police officers here laugh
