Foggy sunrise...
Sunday morning was great! The weather was cool (mid 60's) with no rain in the forecast. On my way to the county park, I was able to shoot a photo of the morning sun just over the treetops lighting up the fog.It had a shimmering effect as the humidity dissipated.
I was the first one at the model helicopter field and got 3 flights before anyone else arrived. Eight flights total so the morning was productive for me!

I must ask if model helicopter flies any different in the cooler morning as to the heat of the day ?

Full scale aircraft experience the same conditions.

I started the hobby/sport in 1975 and flew only nitro/methanol fuel on and off for 20 years.
After a divorce and car accident, I stopped flying for a while.
I picked things up again about 5 years ago and all the technology has changed.
Electric motors and lithium-polymer batteries. Increased power over methanol, but flights are about 5 to 6 minutes where a large fuel tank of gas could get 15 minutes.
One thing is the size of the aircraft has doubled.
The older machines had 250mm blades and most of us are flying 550mm or larger.
