SAD

I had read about it, I thought I know how to recognize it. But no reading prepared me to understand until I moved to the gloomy and cold. Seasonal affective disorder that is.

Even though it's been winter here since Dec., it's actually felt like spring since the first of the year. Seventh warmest Feb. on record they said last month. Spring is officially here on March 21. Watch, people in Ohio will see snow in April like we usually do every year. laugh
Get in front of a sun lamp for treatment and vitamin D.

* not the same spectrum as a tanning light

Hope you feel sunny again soon.

I have that issue. Short cold days, no sun exposure, its depressing. Take a vitamin D supplement and as was suggested, a sun lamp.
One of the things I sort of love and hate the 4 seasons is that it does not seem to decide which weather it has to be in a day for example. It is spring in the morning, then winter in midday, summer in the afternoon. Sun just up 2 -3 hrs a day for maybe 4-5 days in a month (if I am lucky).
Taking vitamin D supplement everyday. Sun lamp I have not tried it. Yes, spring is "almost" starting, hoping for more sunny days.

Thanks. bouquet
I go for walks almost everyday whatever weather it is outside. The breath of fresh air lessen my feeling of being low and miserable.

Hugs to you. hug
Not until I have a beach bod. laugh

Kidding aside, I am considering suggesting what you said.
I'm just glad that spring is close. I'm ready for warm weather again wine
Move to the west of Ireland conversing

If not for any other reason, it will make you grateful for what you HAD snowed in

Hi Shay!
The habit of being in Asia and being in the sun all day long. In temperatures of 25 degrees up in Thailand, I may not recognize that feeling. however May you adapt to the weather and enjoy it and not be sad.
Yes, we get S.A.D. here in the Pacific Northwest. I have been talking to someone about it, just this week. I seem to be wholly unaffected by it, but I've worked a lot of night shifts and have literally gone a few days without seeing the sun, lol.

I don't know anybody that has had success with the sunlamps. I have heard that regular reading lights don't seem to do the trick. But I heard that fluorescent lights do, if put into a lightbox that reflects much of the light.

Let me know if you find something that works for you, as the person I know would likely be helped as well.

Shalom,
Iyyov
A visit maybe one day ... and see what the weather is. wave
I came from The Philippines, which also like Thailand have just either sunny or rainy days, mostly sunny (almost) all year long. I also miss the warm sea water, feels like going in a sauna. hug

Hello to you.

The clock is back to the "summer time" today, unfortunately it is snowing as I am writing this. The tulips in my garden are beginning to show buds, hidden by the white flakes. But the days are getting brighter and longer which I do like much.
Hope your friend feels sunny with spring (if it is already there).
