More than 20 years ago I used to frequent a chat room with women from Philippines. They habitually used the word 'cos' and I believe it's their abbreviated version of cause or because. This morning, I saw bcos used so that leads to: is there a difference in cos and bcos?I realize that many Asian, Malaysians and people in the Pacific region learn English as a 2nd or 3rd language and adopt phrases and abbreviations.
To me, cos is the mathematical abbreviation of cosine.
