Future foods for climate change.

I have finished watching a few videos on climate change and the overall future, in particularly on the foods that are suggested for humans to eat.
Obviously we are to eat less meat and have a greener healthier diet. I am vegetarian so that part doesn't bother me at all, due to all the great positive benefits I have physically gotten from being vegetarian along with fasting daily. I did see at the end of one of these videos, a great portion of the future foods featured bugs for consumption. I don't know how others feel about it, on one hand it's possibly for helping the climate, and the other it's sounds maybe a little too much for the average person to go along with.

And pigs thrive and survive by eating our refuse and excrement. Pork will always be on the menu outside of autistic religious reasons.
And I suspect that red meat will be the one we grow in a lab.

What we will not do is eat the bugs. There'll be a war before you'd get very many of us to eat the bugs, a war that kills so many that the bugs go right off the table. Those who fight and survive get to live in liberty with a happy future ahead. The days of rationing and collectively grinding down our sense of self-worth far behind.
There are lots of flowers you can eat.

My favourite are nasturtiums. The are uniquely hot and peppery.

Nice, how do I get a hold of 'em?
Buy a packet of seeds and chuck 'em in some soil.

They'll self seed after that if you can bring yourself to leave a few flowers on the plant. laugh
Cool, I will try that perhaps but only my indoor window sill (apartment oslo) is not too sunny-
I may spear this til the day I can buy myself a casa hillside mount Etna or some idyllic stony mediterranian sunside shelf. daisy

Nice to know you don't believe or agree with everything you read ....
which includes what I say as well wink

Ever think your energy and physical wellbeing is more about your youth more so your diet?
No I don't agree with everything I read, I obviously believe in climate change and I believe it would be a good thing for more people to be vegetarian.
And no I just find what you said hard to believe on that particular subject when it comes to vegetarian men and men who eat meat. I doubt a diet could do that to me or any other man.
And being young definitely helps with the energy but there are many young people who feel physically terrible or even die from a poor diet. I just speak from my physical body, I feel at times of having great physical energy and physically strong and physically healthy. Incomparrasion to others I feel physically great if not better.
Your food is your fuel, each to knowing what's best for their engine ...
or trying to understand which of what, is best for them.

keep on top of your recommended dose of B12...
and God willing, you'll be blessed with loads and loads of babies very happy

Climate change is nonsense .... but pollution is another thing.
Yes absolutely, I know what works best for me as of a vegetarian diet. Hopefully more people will follow and become vegetarian.
And no lol I don't take B12, don't need it. I'm more than sure I could easily be blessed with loads and loads if I wanted them lol.
And no it's not, I've seen so much on the news and learned about it in school. It's not just pollution.
Do you know what Sonny, but school is another whole load of nonsense as well conversing

B12 on the other hand is not, so be a good lad and buy yourself some supplements in the morning comfort
your body will thank you for it....
so too will all your children choir laugh
I don't see how school is a load of nonsense lol, without it there would be no sense at all in the world.

Maybe someday I'll try out B12, I'm fine as is at the moment, I don't need any multivitamins.
And I understand what you mean lol but I believe that could still be achieved without B12 or a meat diet for that matter.
You don't have to try it out ...
but if you're going to remain a vegetarian, educate yourself on being a healthy one comfort
I am very well educated on it, and I am a physically healthy vegetarian.
If we opt for more plant based diet we definitely need to stop the CO2 reduce nonsense.
As it's vital for photosynthesis.
The percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere is 0.04% and 8f it falls bellow 0.02% we are doomed.
scold
That's like saying a tomato is ok, because it only has a bit of DDT sprayed on it. It is the particular molecule (in this case CO2), and the maximum safe concentration, to avoid warming;- (which we have already exceeded, btw).
Greatly exceeded, already, actually....

professor

So there is more "plant food" (CO2), than the vegetative mass of land and sea, can handle - hence the CO2 concentration in the Earth's atmosphere increases; and as the link shows, it is NOT a natural increase....
@cc A weird and absurd thing to say - I guess it was a typo or smart-keyboard thing, but then again, given it is you, maybe not. So how do you connect pork consumption or rejection to autism, or religion to autism?
No, it isn't the same...
The human impact is way too insignificant on the s called climate change.
As a population and as gas emisions.
Plastic on the other hand is a different thing and all the attention should be paid there.
Can you imagine that "warming" is actually caused by the slowing down of Earth rotation for example?!
Just a thought... dunno

I am just ignoring some comments because it is just nonsense...lol...laugh

Nice to see you...

Maybe fish on a Friday is more accurately depicted as an OCD. However, when you codify the ocd of one man and make it for all then that is autistic. When the prophet does not believe that the ocd is his quirk, his own peculiarity, but it is the way everybody should live. OCD crosses the line into autism when you make the rules from the OCD of one man as though other people were a complete mystery, doesn't even register that they don't need to live like that.
And all that could be why women are diagnosed autistic less often than men are. The truth is that they "get" others better than men do on average and even if she doesn't the autistic girl is more likely to defer. Is less likely to insist her way over yours even if she doesn't comprehend your way whatsoever.

The autistic girl is not so much a sperglord. The sperglord is more likely to be male, more likely to say it's my autistic way or the high way. Men act on their autism more than women do, aspie bull is the manner of the sperglord and it doesn't leave much room for each to their own.
Cups...

It would be best to adhere to practices that helps people restore their health...so plastics should be eliminated...imagine consuming fish with all those plastic particles...uh oh

I would rather continue to be mindful of CO2 emissions...and have the experts provide society all information needed including their educated thoughts on the Earth's rotation ( as you mentioned) and other variables that may explain such horrendous weather such as flooding...melting of the glacial ice caps...polar bears struggling to survive...etc.

If we demand corporations to stop practices of polluting for profit...and call for appropriate/humane treatment regarding animal husbandry...farming practices...the list goes on...perhaps we can effect change for a better outcome...

Interesting, a documentary I watched about a couple going into the farming business employing old ways of preventing topsoil erosion and creating a system to contain rain water...to irrigate their crops when needed...including using animals/birds/bugs to decrease the spoilage of their fruit trees...manure instead of chemical fertilizers or pesticides...diversifying crops and rotating plants to keep soil healthy etc. It is a cost effective, environmentally friendly solution...less waste too...

In the documentary it turned out that a flash flood removed the top soil of many industrialized farms in the area...but not the couple's farm because they spent time investing in the infrastructure of the farm including understanding the daily operations of maintaining a cost effective environmentally friendly business...

A good watch...

@loulou and of course you too!

@cc I am curious why you introduce OCD and Autism into this thread. Not surprised, merely curious, and I suggest both are irrelevant, don't you agree?

Perhaps he works night shifts...sleep deprived...dunno

If the good earth was rich and could provide for everyone I think there would still be a problem with our attitude to life and each other.

This environment really does seem to emphasize how much you could love humanity in the abstract yet make a terrible neighbour and an even worse friend. All the fellow-feeling goes into the cats and dogs having failed to find love amongst our own species. The issue I have with climate change is that it's already there to have it in for our own species and mistake nature for a pet. Anti-human anyway, mistaken about nature anyway.
Except we've got nothing to compare it with.

We can't really compare the covid19 pandemic with lots of fuss and without any fuss because we only did one of them.

We might be able to compare countries who made more, or less fuss, or written accounts of previous pandemics, but each country's, or time's infrastructure and dynamic is likely to create it's own variables.

If we had made no fuss, it could have been overwhelming in all sorts of ways. We can't know about that with any certainty, but I think the death toll was pretty low in comparison to other, historical pandemics and that would have had it's own knock on effects.
You can't compare the death toll from covid with most other pandemics fairly because we had modern medicine that kept people alive when back before modern medicine, they would have died. Even in the countries without good medical systems the death toll was higher. A lot of people did survive in the hospital thanks to breathing machines, drugs, skilled doctors, and all our modern medical tech. If this had happened in the 1800s, it would have been a more dire situation.
When it happened in the 1900's the death toll was much higher.

It was even higher than the total death toll from WWI.
True
@ tenofcups (some time back)

I have supplied the scientifically valided graphs, and links; which explicitly refute your comments; however you do not appear to have troubled yourself to have read those. One final time: man-made CO2 is increasing exponentially.....
Sometimes people just want to be argumentative...notice how some here do not respect others' opinions despite the logic or proofs given...I imagine...the same types that have a problem with apologizing or admitting that you or others have a point... laugh
They do not want to be seen as wrong...even if the truth bites them in the a**...

Continued.....

It is increasing exponentially, because, the global human population, is also increasing exponentially, in a concurrent fashion. It is not rocket science!

"Ignorance is bliss" is a phrase coined by Thomas Gray in his 1768 "Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College". But no, in this case ignorance provides no joy or comfort, does it. Astonishing really that 'deniers' mouth on with their particular nonsense.
Yes insects and worms can and do provide protein and nutrition.

I saw them frequently in Chinese markets, but even doused in chilli I could not bring myself to eat them (or dog or cat for that matter).

CH4 methane is another by-product of food that needs reduction ('another nonsense!' she might splutter) and that can be done by lowering beef and dairy consumption; it is being done by use of feed additives like seaweed for one.
There is no evidence at all, just speculations.
You rely too much on Google and not on serious but elementary facts.

Actually, the sources (I linked) are from NASA. Obviously you know, more than the scientists, there, it would appear...

confused
NASA has shown that biggest CO2 polluters on Earth China and India have been making the world greener.
A twenty year observation result.

How is that bad, especially if you are trying to convince people they should go for a plant based diet?
No CO2 no green...
