The Artifice Girl

So I watched it. Interesting. It deals with some of the ethical considerations of creating a super intelligent Artificial Intelligence (AI). Where does the machine end and life begin? If you turn a working fully sentiment AI off, have you murdered?

What properties are necessary for the definition of life? What properties are necessary to meet the definition of murder?

How would AI become sentient and in what way? If it can learn, would that be on a cognitive level only?

What makes emotional sentience? The trailer stated that the film is 'visceral', but how could it be without the viewer possessing viscera?
wave I'll watch this on my work break today. This was covered in Centennial Man, Robin Williams was
Artificial and upgraded to the point of being loving, loyal and dignified by being given his rights-freedom I guess is what it equates to.

Have a good day Ken

Thank you, Patty. wave
And more to the point it would be typical of the nerds to define life by its intelligence. If humanity is defined by it's intelligence then the less intelligent people are what? Subhuman. That's the implication of intelligence granting rights. The autistopia wins. The days of having to look anybody in the eye far behind in the horrible history of normal human physical contact. The horrors of real chemistry

It is less like an adoption even though there is a strong focus on family interactions, the object becomes self fulfillment. The midpoint in this movie is more comparable to "artifice,".

I found an interesting ideology too.
There are other definitions of life:

or

AI doesn't meet all the requirements for biological life. It has a need for energy, but can't seek it. It doesn't possess membrane bound cells, nor is there metabolism and homeostasis within those cells.

When we talk about the existence of life with respect to AI, we are talking about sentience, the ability to perceive, or feel things: are we destroying sentience if we cut off the energy supply, or dismantle the structure?

The trouble is, from our very first teddy bear, we do have a propensity for projecting life and sentience onto even the most obviously inanimate objects. How can we ensure objectivity?
Maybe 5 years ago I happened upon a video featuring The behind the scenes look at Boston Dynamics..[ robot factory ] ..
Was actually shocked what they were doing to these robots...ie., pranking them, beating them with powerized Louisville baseball bats, putting stumbling blocks in the way et Cetera...and of course ala
Monty Python, dropping heavy weights directly on the head...
