SWATing...
I first heard the term 'swatting' when Marjorie Taylor Greene complained about people calling the police to say she was in a middle of a domestic violence dispute. Cops rushed to her house thinking there was trouble. False alert having them show up at your door, especially if it's in the early morning hours!A similar term SWATing is when the report is more serious and the SWAT team shows up. This time it was when Steve Bannon was doing a live podcast from a studio in Washington, DC when someone called to say there was a shooting.
Police raided Steve's home (and podcast studio) responding to calls of a shooting at the location. since it was live, his podcast audience heard a scuffle in the background before the host switched to an ad break.
Later in the show, Bannon explained the noise. "We got 'swatted' in the middle of the show."
Apparently, this has happened more than once.
