A true gramophone played cylinders. Records came later. And they used a huge horn to amplify sound.
Mine is a record player on left side. Radio on right. Big console cabinet. Has Bakelite records, not vinyl. And a microphone on stand that one spoke into to record. Not sure of speeds. Probably 78 only.
Orzzz is correct. The first Gramophones used cylinders.
For power, they had a hand crank on the side.

After, the design was changed to a flat circular record, the one most people recognize.

To answer your question...
Any working Gramophones are extremely rare and most valuable to collectors.
It's doubtful someone would actually want to play one.
Thanks for your comment. For your information.
Mine gramophone is 70 years old and in working condition. thumbs up

I saw one of these with the trumpet standig up like in Chatillions second picture
in a house my father bought in 1977. Were some stoneplates alongside... yea it worked:)
Lp player is best sound but if you have a party and lots of people bouncing up and down best place that record player on a stabile structure, on some rocky mountains.

My grandpas friend had one, a very nice one. In a beautiful cabinet. He would crank it up and it would play records. If i remember right the records were very thick. But still sounded good. thumbs up

I get in a dispute with my guy. I say vinyl is coming back and he swears no, no,no. Yeah? Then why are current young bands recording on it and box stores selling it? He swears digital is best. I say not. digital equalizes music as it sees fit and cuts out nuances.
I still prefer to listen to Caruso on dad's old Bakelite record to modern renditions.thumbs up
Rap and hip hop drive me up the wall. Only dance way is to bounce up and down like a parrot having a fit!doh
